    leebigez, thank you.
    That's all I was trying to say.

    The guy has plenty of skill, but never seems to focus.
    Imagine his ability with Brand's work ethic.

    Then a Griffen,Rice,Cato,Mobley for Wallace,Anderson,Mcinnis.

    I would still look to Seattle with its picks and Barry though. All three teams are looking to make a move. Seattle has stated its commitment to put talent along side its core of Lewis and Allen. Blazers need a C and need to get rid of at least one of the headcaes. Bonzi and Wallace together is a disaster but seperated maybe they can be controlled. A great 1/2 guard like Anderson would be great for Seattle.
    Seattle trades: Barry, Radmanovic
    Rockets trade : Fut. 1st and Griffen Rice Mobley Cato
    Blazers trade: Wallace Anderson Mcinnis

    Seattle gets: Anderson,Griffen,Fut. 1st
    Rockets get : Barry,Wallace,Mcinnis
    Blazers get: Radmanovic,Rice,Mobley,Cato

    Seattle: Griffen Anderson are just as good as Barry Radmanonvic plus they get a Fut.1

    Rockets: Get a great shooting 2 and a good backup 1 plus they get of course an all-star caliber forward

    Blazers: Get Rice's expiring contract, a solid backup 4, a good 2 thats cheap and a decent center.

    Sounds like a very trade all around to me. What do you guys think?

    If you're going to make a trade, get everything you want out of it. Here's a deal for all the Big Deal buffs.

    Wallace=17m (04)
    Davis=10m (05)

    --------------------------
    27mill

    Cato=7m (06)
    Taylor=8m (07)
    Rice=9m (05)
    Griffin=2m (05)
    ---------------------------
    26mill

    The Rockets get a brusing pf in Davis and a sf in Wallace who can play both. Portland gets a center in Cato, a scoring pf in Taylor,a expiring contract in Rice and young tradeable player in Griffin. The Rocket can reduce Wallace salary after next season, Davis can start at the 4 and then back Ming up at the5 when he needs a rest while Wallace slides to the 4 and nachbar or Morris comes in at the 3. Francis,Mobley,Wallace,Davis,and Ming is as good and as versitile as any team in the entire league. I doubt Portland would bite, but who knows.

    Depsite Rasheed Wallaces personality ,he wins games plain and simple. The blazers have made almost every year. They havent missed the playoffs four straight years.
    I think Rasheed Wallace would be perfect. He brings intensity ,the area in which we are lacking greatly. I fall asleep whenever watching Eddie, he is too laidback. And for the PF youve got to be tough ,bring it every night. Actually do something other than hoisting shots from beyond the arc. Another great post player will be amazing. With Rasheed we'de be a better half court team by far. Eddie is a boy among men. You see it on the court every game. Why wait for a fire to be lit under player like Eddie ,when its raging with a player like Rasheed.
    All in all if we could land him with a Griffin/Cato deal. I'de do it in a heart beat.

    Let's me honest. Sheed is a better offensive player than our best offensive 4 (Mo) and Sheed is a better defensive player than our best defensive 4 (EG). We are talking a major all around upgrade.

    I would probably jump on a Sheed for EG, Rice (makes more sense than Mo for Portland)) and Cato offer, but Portland I would think can do better. He is after all their best player and they were a WC playoff team. Sheed is not a great player and not the more ideal (but unrealistic) fit of Oneal or Brand, but he is a very, very good all around player in his prime (28) and a top 8 PF (which happens to be our weakest position).

    If we did this trade (kept it simple, only Sheed, not other Portland assets) our offseason could then be set with relatively simple manovers of using MCE like money for Posey and splitting our actual MCE or using the vet mimimum for a veteran back-up C and shooting oriented back up swingman.

    Again though, I think Portland is not going to do this. I think they will parley multiple players (a combination of Sheed, Wells, DA, Davis or Randolph) into a bigger star, not visa versa like this deal proposed--unless they really don't think Sheed will stay with them.

    Sheed a Top 10 player? i normally just read these, but today I had to interject(hope that's spelled right), You must be a long time fan of sheed or something, because he's far from a top ten guy.
    TOP TEN
    1. Shaq 6. C-Webb
    2. Kobe 7. Dirk (u no the rest)
    3. KG 8. J-Kidd
    4. T-Mac 9. P. Pierce
    5. Tim Duncan 10. A.I.
    Top Five Power Fowards
    1. Tim Duncan
    2. KG
    3. E. Brand
    4. C-Webb
    5. Sheed

    Of course Sheed is not a top 10 player.

    I do think he is a top 10 PF--which happens to probably be the best/deepest position in the league and isn't old at 28, though I would revise your list:

    Clear top 5:
    1. Duncan
    2. KG
    3. CWebb
    4. Dirk
    5. J Oneal

    2nd 7
    6. Brand
    7. Malone
    8. Gasol
    9. Sheed
    10. K-Mart
    11. Walker
    12. SAR

    I still think any of the second 5 PFs (except the old as dirt Malone) inclduing Sheed is worth EG, Rice and Cato if they will take it. The trick here is getting the other team to agree to the deal. That (EG, Cato, Rice) would be too much principal for SAR however unless Theo was in the deal though.

    THAT'S A BIT MUSH BUT, I SEE YOUR POINT. I'M JUST NOT THAT BIG ON SHEED, BUT THERE'S NO QUESTION ABOUT HIS TALENTS & EG NONTALENT'S

    nope...my contention is that K-mart's play is more a product of Kidd's brilliant playmaking than anything else :)

    Rockets need to trade Mo Taylor, Cato, Griffin for Sheed right now! Kobe is going to be a FA next year and is going to test the market. The Rockets would lose Sheed's and Rice contract that year, living the Rockets with alot of cap space. Yao and Kobe! Now that is a team, if Francis does not like that, kick his butt off the team.

    KMart is a bigger bust as number one than Kwame Brown at this point, because Brown is only 19 or 20- and Martin was a senior coming out of college. He's so overrated, and I get sick when I hear busts mentioned, and his name left out...

    Wonder if we could get the Blazers to take Griff, Cato, Rice, and Draft picks for Davis and Sheed. We might have to add something else to make $ match, but you get the principle. We don't expect to be in the lotto and don't need to get any younger so our picks are trade bait. This also gives us flexablity for '04's free agents(Kobe);). We could then sighn Steve Smith(vet, sharpshooter, goodguy, cheap). Also go after Odam. Posey would still be an option. That would be a for sure playoff team:

    Yao/Davis
    Sheed/MoT
    Odam/Posey/Boki
    Cat/Smith
    Francis/Mooch
    Bench: TMo/Maddox

    Having said this I want us to go after Brand and O'neal first. They are loooong shots but we would get the answers fairly quickly. Davis and Sheed give us more experience and toughness that is needed. I do think a change would do sheed good with the right coaching and the chance to win. If not he's gone next year and so is Cato's contract.
