man, i would love sheed here! look at our power post! yao and sheed. daym, that would be hard to stop! how bout trading mot instead of griff?

    Starting Lineup:
    pg Steve Francis
sg Cat (hoping that he forgot his shoot first mentality coz that would spell disaster coz we got too much fire power from our starting lineup)
    sf Posey
    pf Sheed
    c Yao

    2nd Rotation
    pg Mooch
    sg Hawk
    sf Boki/Rice
    pf Grif
    c Sheed

ALSO maybe we could swing Derek Anderson into the mix.. because he would be a perfect complement to francis. Anderson played Point for Portland when they went on their run.. since people tend to think Francis is a 2.. we could get him so it won't hurt our Defense

who should we offer for DA? since we are trading Griff (still hoping to trade mot instead of griff) and cato for sheed.. who will be left to interest Portland? Cat? or a combination of rice/mooch and some other filler? how will our rotation be like?

    Start
    pg DA
    sg SF
    sf Posey
    pf Sheed
    c Yao

    2nd
    pg cat
    sg hawk
    sf boki
    pf tmo
    c collier

    is that a good rotation?

    To Get Sheed...

...its almost a given Rice would be gone. Expiring contracts are much more attractive than dead weight ones and Taylor's, my friends, is a dead weight contract. At least with Rice they wouldn't be losing much cap space.

I would have to beleive Mobley would be gone as well, seeing as Rasheed would demand touches, and we already don't have enough.

No way we keep Griffen either considering he's still devoloping, he plays 'Sheed's position, and I'm sure he still has more trade value than MoTay. Maybe Griffin for Snow?

If you send Cato/Mobley/Rice to Portland for 'Sheed and then send Griffin to Philly for Snow you have:

    PF 'Sheed/MoTay
    SF Posey/Nature Boy
    C Ming/???
    SG Francis/Hawkins
    PG Snow/Francis/Mooch

    Not bad.

Just my idea, but if i get Wallace, i would try to also send cat somewhere if possible. Personally, I would prefer to play Wallace at the 3 and griffin at the 4, but i think portland would want Griffin in return.

Overrated- I do agree with the assesment of him being overrated. I can't understand how a guy with so many tools can't be 20-10. How can a guy that long and explosive and that atheletic shoot more 3's than ft's. It sounds good, but doesn't it sound better to send Rasheed to the Raptors for the #4,Davis and Hakeem? I think this is just another rumor conjured up by someone.

If we'd get Sheed for Griff, I'd take that.

If we'd get Sheed and Bonzi for Griff and Mobley. I'd take that too.

Bonzi would give us that size/defense at the 2.
Sheed would give us real post presence.

Im shocked you guys actually think portland would do this.

1.Zach randolph, remember him. They dont need Griffin much less Taylor.

    2. Theres no way Les would want to open the new arena with a hothead headcase like Sheed. Might as well get Artest while we are at it.

    3. Just like the eariler Joneal rumors on espn and the rox, this is nothing but a SMOKESCREEN. I know whats going on. You make other teams that have the players you really want(brand) sweat thinking your about to trade for sheed and have them cave in.

I dont buy the capspace excuse. This team is very impatient, and has been known to make under table deals.(long term deals, instead of 1 year and let go) and this team isnt smart enough to plan ahead like that. Otherwise moochie, taylor, rice, cato would never be here in the first place.

If there is a deal, its probably cat/rice/cato/fodder for wallace/mcginnis. But I dont buy it. Theres no way David Aldrigde made up that rumor about O neal, and I doubt if the rox want JOneal one minute, then do a complete 180(age,salary,persona) and strive for Sheed. Someone is lying either Steven Smith or D aldrigde.

Maybe they don't want Sheed anymore, and want to replace him with a new prospect.

    Chad Ford, ESPN:

The Blazers appear to be the other team in the hunt for the
No. 4 pick. They're dangling Rasheed Wallace right now. All
the Raps have to do is send back Davis, Hakeem Olajuwon
and the No. 4 and they have a deal.

Sheed is about the biggest underachiever in the league, and even with that he's still one of the best big men out there. He has almost all of the tools to be as good as Kevin Garnett, but he's not even in the same vicinity. That being said, the only thing that would keep me from making the trade is his attitude.

If we get Sheed, we definitely have to get rid of Mo and Moble yas well.

I'd imagine we could get rid of Mobley and Cato in the sheed deal, then later on send Mo taylor to Seattle for Calvin Booth or Jerome James (to have a backup C).

    Dream line-up:

    Ming/Booth
    Wallace/Booth/T-Mo
    Posey/Boki/T-Mo
    Francis/Posey
    McInis/Francis/Moochie

sheed would be great fot this team. The only reason he isnt a 25 ppg scorer is he's very unselfish. He doesn't demand touches or shots. With his inside/outside game he would fit in great w/yao. Both could feed the other in the post while the other spots up. And he has been very good in the community, weeding smoking aside of course.

Wallace would be an upgrade over Griffin for sure. However his attitude is lacking and it bothers me. We would get rid of Cato's huge contract and would take on Wallace's. However his contract ends in two years. Would we be able to resign him to a decent contract then? I am not so sure.

Athletically I like Wallace but his behavior is scaring me off a bit. I would also like to see Wallace be a better rebounder and defensive force down low. He takes way to many 3pt shots and does not play enough inside. Of course you could say the same thing about Griffin. The difference being that Wallace is better in all phases of the game except shot blocking.

Still, There have been a lot of crappy Griffin trades mentioned (Sprewell, Snow, A Davis) that I don't like and at least this trade offer is something I would actually consider. Not saying I would do it. But would strongly consider it.

WOW, if the above information IS accurate that definitely peaks my interest in this trade! First, getting McInnis in this trade would be golden! McInnis replacing Moochie as are third guard would be great! That is a NEED area for this team! And that is just a throw in in this trade! I love it!

Secondly, if we can REALLY clear all that money off our books for next season then we can make a SERIOUS run at Brand (or Garnet!?!?)! Or we can resign Wallace and will have his bird right! Or we could resign Wallace in a S&T for someone else. That is a NICE situation to be in! I love it.

I was on the fence with this trade but if the above information IS indeed correct then I pull the trigger. Our PF position would be thin but resign T-Mo for cheap and use the MLE to find a PF.

Getting McInnis with Sheed and the ability to clear cap room for next year giving us some cap manuverability is just TOO good to pass up!

we can all agree that we need 2 things this summer:

    1. a defencive minded pass first point guard.

    2. a bruising POWER foward.

    sheed is niether.

we cant get destracted because something shiny like sheed is dangled infront of us!

griff and cato are BOTH, better rebounders than sheed!

LOL. I know Hakeem's still on Toronto's payroll, but wouldn't it be cool to see him suit up for the Blazers? I'd pay to see him and Sabonis truck up and down the court.
