Actually, you're wrong. We know a Yao-less Rockets CAN'T win, as can be seen in the losing playoffs cause this year. Last time I checked our main goal is to win a playoffs series.

Are you insane??!! So you want to trade away the best C in the whole NBA league for two aging declining vets over 30 who the Pistons would love to get rid of in exchange for similar young players.

Or are you a pistons fan who thinks they need some roster changes after their loss to the Celtics...after all their team will only get worse with an aging core...

Yao is our only hope of winning a playoffs series. In combination with T-Mac.

Honestly, Sheed has been disappointing me for couple of years already. He talks so big but doesn't show up in crunch time. He's also undersized for his position. I wouldn't trade Tmac or Yao to the Pistons.

Yao leg injures scare me...I would probably pull the trigger on that deal.

At least Yao's leg can heal. You can't "heal" from being old. Sheed is tremendously overrated. You guys actually want a PF to wander around the 3-point line and jack up threes?

I wonder if clutch is willing to put two more threads in sticky

    1) random trade idea for Yao;
    2) random trade idea for TMac.

You can't shut them all up, at least let's boundle them together.... :p

    Just a thought.

The Rockets would never in a million years do that trade, even if yao was guaranteed to miss 1/3 of every season. The value of the team has increased muliple times since yao was drafted, and it is a business after all. On the other hand, I don't ever see the pistons, a perenial championship contender trading away possibly their two most valuable players in their playmaker and their big man for an injury prone player that has never had the experience of playing in the second round. I don't think its possible to draft a trade idea where the fans of both teams will be content unless one team is trying to cut salary or rebuild.

We know Yao-less Rox can't win.

I think detroit will do this trade,

It will put us in the 'must win in two years' mode, and detroit will rebuild. So the trade could be bigger:

    yao/landry/alston/brooks/first round/bj for sheed/dice/billups/hunter

I'm not sure this new 'OLD' Houston team is better

Sheed got himself ejected in the last playoff I think and the Cav took the series.

I think you should reconsider who is truly smoking crack.

In other words, put down the pipe.

Essentially we trade our number two/one option and in return get two amazing options. Last time I checked they have one more title than Yao does, and they've gone to the conference finals more than Yao.

Oh well, Yao is the corner stone of this team, getting a trade involving him will take a lot to win people over.

    Is funny you know.

Detroit is undefeated in the playoff without Billups. And trough the playoff Maxiell+Stucky >>>> Wallace+Billups.

Maybe you reconsider and trade for Maxiell and Stucky who are cheap and younger players.

i like this thread more than the other one. In the one for McGrady we would have a crowded frontcourt with yao scola landry and rasheed. plus detroit would have crowded wingman spot with mcgrady tayshaun and hamilton. and yao is extremely injury prone at this point of his career, even moreso than McGrady. So wed be at least getting players that could play and have never had injury problems.

That deal does not improve the rockets.
I really hope Yao stays healthy next season because if he does not, bye bye Yao
