I think we should sign this dude named Wilt Chamberlain. I heard he used to be really good. Maybe he's still got some moves left.

Remember the scratch Kemp gave Yao during the latter's rookie season?

    I'll pass on him

Nope, I workout at the one on San Felipe and Voss.

As for Kemp, I saw him play in a pick up game about 2-3 weeks ago from up close. (standing on the midcourt line dividing the 2 whole-court games) All he did was play kinda half-a$$ed & brick alot of long jumpers. Even though he is much better shape than he used to be, he seemed to be washed-up and wouldn't be able to offer the Rockets nothing more than what we already have in Stro/JHo.

From the clips I saw on Fox, he can still jam it pretty well. Even at 35, he's superior athletically to Juwan Howard. And he's surely stronger than Stro.

There's just no point to signing him when he's so old, we're in the lottery, and we have 2 guys already getting paid big bucks.

Kemp used to be very good at dunking and grabbing boards because he was really freaking athletic. He'll never be really freaking athletic again.

    So, no.

Hell yes, bring in Kemp. We've got scrubs like Brunson, Farhim, and Hayes on the team. I'd be very willing to see what the reign-man could do for us.

Of course, if we did sign him you know JVG wouldn't give him a real chance. JVG is absolutely horrible when it comes to allocating minutes and giving someone a chance to perform. He'll have one or two so-so games and JVG won't every give him enough minutes to get in the flow of things (see: Swift, Barry, DA, etc). Then he'll get released. JVG sucks.

James Brown said it best: please please please...

Let's stop taking older players. How about a novel idea...let's get players under the age of ~27/28?

    Just an idea...

Brian Grant was the guy who really tore Yao up.

i cant believe anyone would actually consider bringing him on an nba team. That thing he said about "all i wanna do is get to the hall of fame" is so high on the unintentional comedy scale, we should just try to get him to say more riduculous things.

My buddy Oliver Miller is also thinking about coming back to the NBA. What should I tell him?

Do the deal if he pays to play. One large ought get the job done.

Back to reality: Kemp has zero BB IQ so methinks JVG is not excited about the possibility.

I say no, but for a different reason than everyone else.

I hate Shawn Kemp the way most posters hate Karl Malone.

I hate everythign about that '92-'93 Sonics team. I hate Gary Payton. I hate Detlef Shremp. (so mcuh that I won't look up the correct spelling of his name.) I hate George Karl. I hate John Lithgow because he looks like George Karl. I hate Sonic hamburgers. I hate the city of Seattle. I hate Seattle Original's coffee. I hate Nirvana. I hate the color green.

    And I hate Shawn Kemp.

    No.

Actually you're both right... Grant tore up Yao's arm, and Kemp ripped his back open from what I recall (but I may have that backwards...)
