I'm a no shaving cream type of guy. I just throw on some hot water and start hacking. The only days I don't shave are Friday & Sunday. God I wish I could skip every day.
I have a very heavy beard. I can shave in the morning and have a five o'clock shadow by noon. Needless to say by the time I get to law classes at night I look like a Miami Vice reject. Shaving sucks. It is really painful and electrics don't seem to work. I have even given them to one month you are supposed to to get your face "used to them". No dice. I sent off for the free (had to pay for shipping) sample of the stuff mentioned above. I will report my experience back to the group. Oh and I was going to say something about Jorge needing to be careful about shaving "down there" because his wang looks like just another pube, but I'm better than that.
I generally shave every day. I hate it. My skin is sensitive and I tear my neck up at least once a week. Usually I skip shaving on Friday, and let it grow until Monday morning. Thats usually my best shave. i used an electric, but I never got a very close shave.
I have a beard and I trim it weekly but I'll pass along a shaving tip I received one time when I shaved my head every day. Don't use Shaving Cream. Get some Paul Mitchell's "The conditioner." It is conditioner you leave in your hair. Use this in place of shaving cream and shaving won't be such a drag. It works great.
I thought this was funny, earlier some of yall were talkin about NAir for Men, well according to their website : WARNING: DO NOT USE ON HEAD OR FACE, AROUND EYES, IN NOSE, IN EARS, ON NIPPLES, PERIANAL OR GENITAL AREAS. Keep out of reach of children. All i wonder is if anyone actually shaves those areas it says not too, besides the head or face?WARNING:
Men have to shave those other areas? Give me a break. I'd much rather them not risk the razor damage. I know this has been discussed in the past, but... to put it delicately... do women "have" to shave those other areas? (at least, your women... it all depends on who you're in a relationship/ one-night stand with and what you agree to, since no one else is going to see it) Seems like the hairless, "prepubescent" look is in these days... kind of weird in a way... another problem is having sharp objects in those neighborhoods...
Oral is better without hair in the way. Especially long hair. Nair won't give you cuts or razor burn. Your hair will grow back relatively quick, but it's short.
Isabel, I think it's fun just because oral is a bit different. It's kind of like using Viagra if you don't need to use it. It's fun. That's not to say one would want to do that all the time, but it can be a kick. I would probably do it myself, if the wife asked, but so far she hasn't. Of course, according to my dear lady, when it grows back it in, it's a b*tch! edit: I'd stay away from Nair! It ain't natural!
Wow, this thread took a sharp turn. I think it's a good idea to keep things trim for both men and women. Of course I'm quite the adult video star also, so it's a job requirement for me.
Oh, goodness, if my woman doesn't shave her legs, I tell her to either sleep on the floor or go to the bathroom immediately and take care of her DUTY. Don't be acting up on me like that, woman. I'm way too good for that. It's just lazy and negligent on the woman's part. It's downright inconsiderate!
Trader_J, I'm showing my age, but I'm an old school hippie from the '60's. Back then, it was very common for the fair sex to not shave, as well as not wear a bra. I loved it, and could care less to this day. Having said that, my wife wouldn't think of not shaving the typical areas today, although she didn't back in the day. She's an executive, and has to look the part.
My shaving ritual involves a cheap pair of walmart clippers without the attachment....and yes, that would be my face. I shave once every 3 to 4 weeks. I am pretty much always bearded, but once I get an ingrown hair I can't stand it and I usually will shave the whole damn thing off and start over. My girlfriend has a thing for beards, so this works out well for me because I HATE TO SHAVE.
That's another thing. Is it true that men would rather us not wear bras? (sorry, tough luck, we're going to wear them. They serve a useful purpose.) At first, when you said your wife was an executive and always shaved the "typical areas", I thought of some of those other things we had talked about in this thread. I was wondering exactly what kind of executive she was. Time to remove mind from gutter.
Isabel, I can't speak for other guys, but I've always preferred the braless look. And my wife wears them. She's not in her 20's any longer. I don't know how old you are, and won't ask (it ain't polite!), but back during the '60's and early '70's, going braless was as much a political statement as anything else. It was declaring you were "free" from the restrictions of society's norms. Sorta like having long hair, a beard, going skinny dipping, getting high, or not, and a host of other things. Some people lived in communes. Some lived that way, and didn't call it that. It was fun!
as covered in another thread from wayback, like larry david, i have a good memory for some things - Deckard, if Isabel went braless someone could and likely would get hurt. My wife doesn't shave in the non-executive areas, and there's nothing worse, well ok, I suppose it's not all that bad a problem, than gagging on a pube...so I heard...from a friend...not about my wife...ok, it was my comment.
Hey, one of my best friends back then, who happened to be a girl, was so large that she had trouble sleeping. She'd start to role over in bed and they would wake her up! We went to clubs together. Much better than going alone or with a bunch of guys (or girls, in her case). We'd dance, and when one of us hooked up with someone, we'd split up with a knowing smile and a wave. Those were good times. Anyway, I completely understand where Isabel is coming from. And no, Isabel, my wife isn't one of those executives!
I promise you'll like it. I'll give you a tip...its best to shave when you take a shower. The first time you'll use it, you won't think you have enough of the stuff because its just 3 drops. It won't glide as easy as a gel does on the first swipe but when you put more water on your face, its really slick after that.
TMI, and really don't want that image of you man shaving... I have sensitive skin as well, so I only do it every other day...If its everyday, then I have cuts and stuff, but those little white crayon things (don't know the name) you get at Walgreen's work great and stops the bleeding...
