    bah, 16 days left.

I doubt Les wants to buy the #10 pick unless the Hornets take back Scola for Okafor. Then I'm sure the Rockets would throw in one of their picks.

My guess is Martin is traded on draft night. It's not smart to move Lowry until Dragic is signed. Dragic won't be signed until July. Then Lowry will be shopped along with Scola, who no one wants.

This is one of the few proposals that actually makes sense for New Orleans .... Both players coming in have one year left on their deal - a team option for a second in the case of Webster.

Dalembert would cost them ~$1.5m to buy out. Not sure about what Webster is guaranteed but at a base of ~$5.2m its likely he costs less to jettison than Dalembert .... and they get out from under the two year $28m commitment to Okafor.

Not real sure you could get Minny to buy into this deal but if they did .... Thats not a bad return for Carl Landry.

I remember people talking about wizards wanted blatche in any deal with mcgee and look what happened. He was basically traded straight up for Nene. I think if you can get your hands on a quality center like Okefor and the #10 pick, you do it. 10,14,16 is pretty good ammo for future deals. I mean, if you can somehow get scola moved in that deal , you can then make an offer to Brook Lopez for 12m per and force nets to match. Then they could amnesty martin.

Sam n PPat is the ticket...
NO can buyout Sam for 1.5 if they want flex...PPat is a pretty cheap contract for a couple years to fill in one of NO many holes....
Meanwhile, we open up some pt for DMo's arrival....
I'd rather give the money to a proven midlevel commodity like Okafor, rather than gamble on an Asik in free agency...

I've never met the guy, but there was conversation here on the board about it from more reputable posters.

If I remember correctly there was a radio interview with Chris Mannix (SI)I think when the Gasol trade redux was in the process of happening before the trade deadline, but Houston refused to give up Lowry. In that interview Mannix said that from everything he's hearing Demps is "still enamoured with Scola" so there was still potential of the Rockets cutting a deal with New Orleans for Kaman instead.

Anyways, that statement was coming from a radio interview during the Gasol trade redux period back in February if you want to go search through the 610 taped interviews. Look for a Chris Mannix one.

To make the deal work, you'd also need Brad Miller's contract (he hasn't filed his retirement papers yet). But he also has a partially-guaranteed waivable-before-July contract.

So, go with some combination of Webster or Miller or Dalembert for some buyout action on NO's part. Or some combination of those guys plus Scola, IF Demps still likes the guy's game.

That would determine if we have to throw in a pick (this year's #16? Dallas's future #21-#30?) in order to get the #10 along with Okafor.

I don't know, though. NO could grab a decent PG this year at 10.

Morey would only go for this if Okafor can play at least 24 mpg. That's a gross contract to eat for pick #10.
