Without making this thread another trade thread, I think Scola is a feasible trade piece for Okafor #10...and that is because NOH's GM loves Scola.

    Houston:
    Howard/Hedo/#10

    NOH:
    Scola/#16

    Orlando:
    Okafor/Lowry/Martin/#14

begs the question of why we didn't trade one of our veterans away for a potential early lotto pick like Portland did. It seems like we are always late to the draft party. Certainly we had options to put ourselves in better draft position. I'm tired of undermining our building for the future on the desperate hope of clinging to an 8th seed. It's pathetic.

Lowry doesnt want to be here. Its a gain. Gain Dragic and gain 10th pick. You pull the trigger on any top 10 offers. Its as simple as that before his production from not wanting to be here drops off.

Okafor is actually a good player though. Tell you what, I'd rather have Okafor over Dally. Just my opinion though.

In other leagues it's irrational to hate seeking out stars just because they might throw a hissy fit about not being in LA or South Beach. That's pathetic.

Ariza and Okafor are not bad players if they come off the bench. :p

I'd take Okafor for Kevin Martin though. Buy out Dally. Draft a SG/SF with the #10 pick or a higher pick that we traded up for with our #10 and #14 or #16 pick.

I have two questions for you ....

#1 why would NO want to take on Scola's salary when they are shipping Okafor out for that very reason. (They may take Martin).

#2 Why would they want an a big in return for Okafor when they are obviously moving him out to make room for the young big('s) they draft.

Trade Lowry to Portland for #6 pick.

Trade Martin to Minnesota for #18, and Webster's partially guaranteed contract.

Trade #6, 14, Webster and Dally's partially guaranteed contracts to New Orleans for Davis and either contract.

    Draft Kendall Marshall at 16.

Trade 18, Scola and Dragic for Gasol.

    Davis / Camby or Okafor
    Gasol / Patterson
    Parsons / Morris
    Lee / Budinger
    Marshall / Miller

I really wouldnt mind this okafor is not a bad big we can then draft leonard (10), rivers (14) wrotten (16)

and swing scola and lowry for Gasol

    Camby/Leonard
    Gasol/DMO
    Parsons/Bud
    Lee/Rivers
    Dragic/Wrotten

or if we can get wrotten later we can trade the 16 down for two late 20s from boston and get wrotten and moultrie

Thats not smart. At all. I like coachbadlees. I would do Scola for for 10 and Okafer ina minute.

Kmart is still a proven player and an expiring one at that.

Last year contracts play so good too.

    I'd consider Okafor and 10th...
Okafor is overpaid... but most are...eliminates the need for Sam or Camby at 7M and whatever... use a pick on a rookie center (as intended)...
Swap for Kmarts expiring and be rid of him once n for all - retain CLee and draft Rivers with 14...

I will get off the koolaid and say Davis is untouchable. Instead:

Trade Martin to Minnesota for #18, and Webster's partially guaranteed contract.

Trade Dally and Webster's partially guaranteed contracts for #10 and Okafor.

    We'd have the 10, 14, 16 and 18th picks.

    Draft Jones at 10.
    Draft Rivers at 14.
    Draft Kendall Marshall at 18.

    Okafor / Camby
    Bosh / Jones
    Parsons / Budinger / Morris
    Lee / Rivers
    Dragic / Marshall

Trade Lowry, Scola, Patterson and 16th pick for Bosh.

Bound to hit a home run with 1/3 picks, right?

Man , this is worse than the random trade ideas .... what makes anyone think that they WANT Scola's contract when they are trying to ship out Okafor's ?!

    Cause it's a "little less"?!!!!?

I'd trade Scola for Okafor and #10 faster than you could blink an eye ..... but New Orleans just aint gonna take Scola.

They want two things - Shed Salary and Open up playing time for the player or players they intend to draft.

Scola to New Orleans makes absolutely no sense. A total of $8m in savings over the next two seasons while it costs them money in the third year - Scola's partially guaranteed final year.

    Scola's got three years left at $9,408,207 , $10,224,622 , $11,041,037.
Okafor has two years left at $13,543,250 , $14,544,687.

Where's the savings ? Where's the open roster spot ?!!

At least use some common sense when making trade proposals .... not one sided in favor of the home team.

They might take Martin since he's in the final year of his deal and they could move him for an asset at a later date .... But even then , Im not sure thats enough savings / return for the #10 pick.

David Stern aint Donny Walsh .... He axed the Gasol deal and is still calling the shots for that franchise.

Or Sam n PPat for Okafor +10?...works on trade machine...
draft Rivers at 14, a center (worse case Melo) at 16
Kmart, Bud and #10 for Derrick Williams and Barea or Ridnour...

retain Dragic and Clee, bring over Dmo...

leaves Klow/Scola/future Dallas pick to swap for a forward (3way nettin JSmith?)

    Dragic/Barea or Ridnour
    CLee/Rivers
    Parsons/MMo
    JSmith?/DWill/DMo
    Okafor/Melo?

The Hornets are loaded with young PFs (Ayon and Smith) they like and they're adding Davis. I think they want to move Okafor to replace him with Kaman who they're supposedly keen to re-sign.

    PF: Davis, Ayon, Aminu
    C: Kaman, Smith
