I remember Livingston playing for the Clippers behind Sam Cassell if memory serves me correct. I recall them speaking highly of his potential before the accident. Would definitely be a serviceable back up PG but at this point in this team's development, nothing's a sure thing. I'm just wishing for a good HEALTHY season for all our players.

I briefly searched for the injury video on YouTube, and didn't find it. That's probably for the best, as I may not have the nerves to watch it. I'm squeamish about bodily breakage.

Graphic close up of Livingston Knee injury.

I like this kid, and if he can stay injury free he will help the Rockets in many ways. He should bring back the Fro though.

If his body holds up he should definitely back up Lin over Douglas. Simple fact - Livingston is a natural PG while Douglas is more of a SG. Whats not to like about a 6'7 PG?

I like a point guard who can dunk.

Forbes is also a possibility at PG as he played backup some at Toronto last season. Forbes can play 1 - 3 and would be a nice player to keep in case of injury.

Groom Machado in DLeague for a while, and let Forbes backup Lin in the interim? Livingston's probably a better point than Forbes, but doesn't bring as much versatility - and there's always concern about the knee.

Douglas was not a very good shooter last year so arguing that he's better than Livingston in this area isn't saying much.

As a backup PG the Rockets can do a whole lot worse than Shaun Livingstone.

That being said, even though he's only 26, I have a hard time believing they feel like he has enough upside to not move him if the opportunity is out there to make a deal for the future. Same can be said about Douglas.

Since Lin is coming off of a knee injury, and Machado is sure to go through some major rookie headaches. I would expect Morey to hold onto either one of the two of these guys for the first few weeks of the season unless a deal presents itself. In that case you trade him and dont think twice, and roll the dice with Machado backing up Lin, and Parsons/Royce running the point if that goes wrong.

Just let Machado plays. He will be fine. He is already one of the better passers in the league.

Awesome... Now we dont even really have to watch the real games this year.

We can control Kevin Martin to kick the ball out of bounds on purpose to lose games in the 4th quarter and give guys like Scott Machado a 99 ranking to dominate 3 quarters of the game by himself.

I think Morey was right. Virtual sports really are the wave of the future.
