Fortunately, the interchange idea has been scrapped. They still want an alternative, but cutting through the Heights isn't going to fly. The park in question is the 11th Street Park. The city and supporters managed to save all but a small portion of the park that will become available to developers in August if they cannot raise about $2.5 million to buy that little section. Of course, if a developer moves into that small parcel, it will likely destroy the rest of the park with it by driving out the unique animal species and creating industrial pollution common to any strip-center-like development that could fit on this spot. http://www.savethispark.org
wow. i didnt know bone hangs out at greenspoint. looks like i have new favorite mall...gotta love the SCT's
as much as zoning kills malls, urban sprawl is much worse imo. why shop at sharpstown when you live in First Colony. Why shop at Greenspoint when you live in the Woodlands. Why shop at Almeda if you live by Baybrook.

Agreed. We lived in Birnam Woods when I was growing up (infant to 4 years old). I remember getting SO excited to go to Greenspoint (late 70's) because of all the huge jungle gyms they had in the middle of the mall - It was awesome!!! That being said, my mom is one of the most cautious people in the world. No way in hell would she put her baby boy in harms way..... Sorry Fatty - you are wrong.
