Pickens is a crony capitalist of the first order.

Remember when he tried to get the taxpayer to fund his windmill boondoggle?

    From your link's first sentence:

"In 2012, U.S. companies and their employees saw the lowest health care premium rate increases in six years, according to an analysis by consultancy Aon Hewitt."

 So we are all agreed?

Yeah, it is still WAY to expensive, for me, you, and businesses I know. It would have been worse on the trajectory we had before ACA.

I'll repost this as a question:

It's my understanding the legislation provides a $2,000 tax credit to businesses that provide group insurance for their employees. It's my understanding that those businesses which do not provide the coverage do not receive the credit.

Is this the case, or is it really a tax increase?

How much do you have to pay to get the $2000 tax credit? Anything more than $2000 is a tax increase.

I'll spread the list so that everyone can see what vindictive idiots those employers are, and try and drive them out of business. Good plan.

They are idiots for cutting costs they way they are doing it, when nothing has changed that would require them to cut costs.

No, if you continue the status quo you pay nothing more.

It would be like me saying my taxes were being raised because I refused to have more children than I could afford, since I could not claim more exemptions.

If you continue the status quo, you pay $2000 in penalty per employee.

How about a terrible economy for starters. It has to be because they hate Obama, and not because they are preparing for ObamaCare to kick in, or because the economy sucks, or because it might save them money down the road, or the rise in material costs, or any combination of those things. It has to be because they hate Obama.

I'm with those on here who say you aren't promised anything in this world, and that includes a job. If its such a terrible business decision they will suffer the consequences but something tells me they know what they're doing considering they have the workforce to fire to begin with.

The economy hasn't gotten worse since Nov. 6th. The economy has been on the upswing. Why fire people now, when you don't have to. Why not try and capitalize on the uptick in economy to see if by the time the Obamacare stuff kicks in, nobody needs to get laid off.

Hopefully they will suffer the consequences for their horrible decisions. But the logic that they have a workforce to fire means they know what they are doing doesn't really fly.

After all look at all the multi-millionaires and billionaires who gave money to Crossroads but only got a 1% return on all that money they spent. Surely the fact that they have so much money would mean they know how to spend it wisely, except in this case they didn't.

Like with many Republicans these owners believed something other than reality and are acting on it. Too bad that loyal workers have to suffer because of these owners ignorance.

cml, does this change your assertion that health care costs have risen since ObaRomneyCare funding provisions came into effect?

    That ****'s not necessary here.

    Calm down, son.

If this is the right wing's latest strategy, Democrats will have a super majority in 24 months.

Yup. This looks like such sour grapes, temper tantrum BS. The GOP backers have actually discovered a brand new way to alienate the working class citizens of the US. Gotta admit: they're innovative.
