Something must be going on if they're delaying the surgery. I hope it's not serious and only affects him when he plays the Rocks. The longer they wait, the longer he's going to miss games. (duh!)

Shaq hasn't shown anywhere near the propensity to throw punches that Dream did early in his career. Dream rumbled quite a bit back in the day. I'm not worried about Shaq throwing punches, I'm more concerned with all the $#%@&!!! calls that he gets. I hope it takes Yao longer than 10 or 15 minutes to foul out!

the only reason Ming is talking about Shaq so much is becuz every person in the media asks him about the match up almost right away.

yeah ,but dream could land punches , i think shaq is reluctant to fight becuz he always looks like a fool ( except when he is playing b-ball)

Unless Shaq brings a gun to the game I don't think Ming has anything to be worried about. Maybe he will learn from Shaq (though I doubt it will get early), and he'll improve his conditioning. Other then that he faces Shaq 4 times so what's the big deal?

i think shaq is reluctant to fight and to land a punch because he knows he could very well kill somebody if he lands one.

but if everyone around the league isn't quite sure, then he keeps a mental edge.

Reporter to Yao Ming: "So how do you feel about facing Shaq one day?"

Ming: " I look forward to it so I can learn how to play in the NBA. Shaq is the best right now, so I can learn much from him."

    ********************OR:**************************

Reporter to Shaq; "So how do you feel about facing Yao Ming?"

Shaq: "If he keeps talking so much and mentioning my name, I'll elbow him in the nose."

Everytime I hear Shaq talk about Ming, he always has to say something about 'busting him up', or throwing an elbow. I would MUCH rather have a guy like Ming who shows respect and is a TEAM ball player, then a guy who basically just sounds like an idiot.

Shaq should say something about how he could learn much from Yao Ming on how to:
    *move without the ball
    *shoot a free throw
    *shoot anything, for that matter
    *dribble

I think Shaq better be careful of what he says, Ming might just come out and run Shaq to death...

there's a old chinese story (the romance of three kingdoms) in which one of the last great generals, Wei Yan, was asked by his opponents to declare during a battle:

"Who dares to kill me?!" 3 times.

At the end of which his opponents promised to surrender.

He did so. But before he could finish the 3rd refrain, someone (the little brother of another great general) popped up behind him, and, screaming "I DARE TO KILL YOU!", beheaded the proud general...

Dunno how this is relevant, but Shaq's r****ded and arrogant comments remind me of it...

Liver complications are not uncommon w/ several viruses such as Epstein-Barr. I would think that would be the cause before I would think about drug or creatine side effects.

people, i heard the interview on ESPN and trust me, Shaq was kidding!! All u should do when Shaq says something is laugh and move on. and the last thing u should do is take it seriously and make a big deal of it. even with this said, if i were ming, i would watch out :D

This is David Stern's dream come true. We have a rivalry brewing. May even give Shaq a reason to stick around.

Not to mention all the offensive fouls he commits that never get called. Heck they could call one just about ever time he scores.

The first game (Yao vs Shaq)....

Shaq will lower his sholder into Yao (offensive foul) JUST TO SEND A MESSAGE.

Yao will try and back down Shaq; Yao turns ball over.

Shaq will try and jump hook over Yao; Yao BLOCKS IT!

Yao tries to back down Shaq again; again, another turnover.

Shaq backs down Yao under the basket and Shaq dunks on Yao.

Yao gets ball at the top of the key and shoots a three pointer
    in Shaq's face.

Shaq is still happy because he thinks that 2 is better than 3.

Phil Jackson calls timeout and teaches Shaq some math.

From that point on Yao will start shooting jumpers over Shaq the rest of the
    game until someone double-teams Yao.

    Francis and Mobley take over.

Once Yao starts shooting jumpers (18footers) over Shaq, he will
    take notice.

Shaq DOES NOT respect Yao. NOT YET!

LOL. The only movement Shaq has to do is getting post postion, which he's very good at. Any other movement would be a waste of time. And he's a better ballhandler than Yao.

    :) funny post dave.

if ming gets 14, 18 and 5, he should win ROY, all star starter and defensive player of the year. And Rudy and CD gets coach of the year and GM of the year.

if shaq has this many health issues he might as well call it quits before he really messes himself up.

Maybe someone should show Yao the video clip of Barkley body-slamming shaq, just to let him know Mountains can be moved, and Shaq is only human! and humans fail!

If Shaq "busts up Yao" and Yao is injured...I'm pretty sure that somebody on the Rockets will do their best Kermit Washington impression.

I was wondering about that too.

Shaq would throw a punch only because he has sooooooo much pride.

He has soooooo much pride that he'd would rather punch Yao than
be embarrassed on national TV by a rookie.

if shaq injured yao, i bet the rockets would ominously sign 2 sandwhiches to a 10 day contract to fight shaq or hurt him.
