I think all my TVs will have to be broken during the next Rockets-Lakers game. It's going to be ugly.

So you're saying that he is not a Rockets fan and does hate Yao?

I guess we'll let him answer for that.

i dont get it? When Yao has abad game, it seems to be ALWAYS steve is at fault. I call that more siding with yao ming, then what pgabriel does. Maybe becasue there is so much hate on francis on this moard, that there needs to be one or two guys who even things out. It gets ridiculous sometimes in here after a loss.

Hmm. One of two things is true about him:

    1. Either he really dislikes Yao.

    or

    2. He's obsessed with Francis to the exclusion of Yao.

One pretty much has to be true. Surely, you've read the threads (there have been several) in which he continues to blindly assert his anti-Yao, pro-Francis opinions, changing arguments like hats when one gets nailed... but all the while maintaining the same ultimate position.

Look, the only reason I get upset about is because how much **** the YOFs get on this board... while people with irrational biases the other way generally are disagreed with by most posters... but don't get attacked.

They have one thing going for them that YOF don't: if Francis left the team, most (but not all) would still root for the Rockets. But as long as Francis is a Rocket, they're just as obnoxious.

You shouldn't be so obsessed with me.

Not you. Just very annoyed by the fact that a lot of the YOFs are e-persecuted, while those like you with blatantly obvious biases running the other way are disagreed with... but nobody really calls you out on it.

because I'm not a Francis only fan. And again you shouldn't be so obsessed with me, if it bothers you so much, get a hobby.

Yes you are. You might not think of yourself as one. But it's still true. If your love of Francis prevents you from being objective even towards other Rockets, then you're an FOF.

A "true Rockets fan" wouldn't let his love of one player obscure his view of another to the extent that it does yours.

And of course, I'm tremendously obsessed with you. I naturally lie awake late at night thinking of my angers towards you (ok, really I just log on, see the absurdity, and can't stop myself from posting...).

    "NOBODY has ever"

I think Mr. Olajuwan might have something to say about that.

But far be it from me to accuse a commentatory of hyperbole.

Absurdity is claiming a group of fans on a web site are persecuted, while others run around unchecked to I guess torment the others.

It seems to me that pgab is only reacting to the virulent Francis-bashing that takes place on the boards. It has a polarizing effect. The more ridiculous Francis' detractors get in slandering him, the more stridently do others have to argue in his defense.

    Thank you Juan,

I have a bad habit of doing this, not just on defending Francis. The more Francis bashing there is, the more I talk up his good points. I almost refuse to criticize his faults because there are definitly enough people on the other side of the issue. I understand it takes away my creditability but there is really to much Francis negativity on here.

For this moment, this day, this one week, can't we set aside this argument?

    Francis had a great game.
    Yao had a great game.
The Rockets had a great game.

    Savor it.

    LB,
I watched the tape, We actually did not double on Shaq much last night. We did hack him a lot and we need to learn not to do that. As long as you can stay between Shaq and the basket, you have to take the chance that he misses. He does miss in those situations (not just last night but against other teams as well).

Shaq is dangerous when he can spin off you and slam. I am happy if he takes jump shot all day long.
