I remember but I don't remember who started it. I just remember Chucky taking him down. As much as like the Chuckster, he was a dirty player.
I hate it when people bag on Shaq. He may not posses all the great fundementals with his body size doing the dominating, but he is a very classy and respectable guy. Its true he receives a brunt of uncalled for fouls, just like he gives them out ... all unintentional usually. Everyone is Kobe this and Kobe that, but Kobe wouldn't be jack w/out Shaq. Has Kobe every done anything admireable? He is the one with the cocky ass look during the game. He is the one that thinks carries the teams. I'd love to have Shaq on our team!
rockbox: I like Shaq too although his game is really ugly. I like the fact he doesn't get after the official even though he gets hammered all the time. He complains when the Lakers are losing. You probably have forgotten, since it was so long ago. Space Ghost: I hate it when people bag on Shaq. Everyone is Kobe this and Kobe that, but Kobe wouldn't be jack w/out Shaq. Well, he would be jack, but not a champion, and I think that point was proven in the finals. Every time Shaq came back in the game it seemed like there was a graphic showing point differential when he was in the game and when he was out. It was always something like "In Game +23, On Bench -19" -- in other words, without Shaq in there, the Nets would still be playing. That's why I'm so angry at the way they won't call fouls on him. The only time he's been in foul trouble in like three years has been against Vlade Divac, and people complained about Divac flopping! Sheesh! Shaq would lead the league in triple doubles if they called the fouls fairly.
I don't really like Shaq, but I don't hate him, for the reason that he has always shown so much respect for Hakeem. I agree that Kobe is more annoying, and wouldn't be a champion without Shaq.
Hakeem can't be taller than 6' 10" . As I said a couple times before, I got his autograph when I worked at the airport (in 1993) and thinking I could take him to the rim (I'm almost 6 foot) or perhaps post him up...For some reason, he didn't look tall at all... I jest on the thinking though.
