Okay, in this pic he looks like he's got a little bit more of a paunch. He definitely lost weight, but the view from the front is way scarier than the view from the side.
By all accounts Duncan has always resisted playing the C position. That's why they signed Rasho last year instead of going after J-Oneal. That being said, big men is big men and with KG and Duncan in their primes, Shaq with a reinvigoration, and Yao potentially making the leap, it could be a very good year for fans of the Goliath/Goliath matchup.
I was reading this thread and actually decided to flip to MTV, just in time to see Dave Chapelle in a white suit. For a half-second I thought it was Shaq. Because, apparently, all brothers look the same to me. I must be a horrible, horrible racist. Shaq looks great. His wife looks greater, but Shaq looks like pre-El Lay Shaq.
Very difficult to tell from the pics. But if those of you who saw him on TV say he looked thinner then he probably is. He's getting in shape just to rub it in on the Lakers & Kobe. Kobe better take his game to a new level.
I'm psyched to see Shaq take good care of his body. I want him to have another 2-3 great years which overlaps Yao coming into his own as a great center. After his out-of-shape season last year, I was afraid Shaq was going to just fade into oblivion and Yao will simply inherit the Best Center by default. Now I think Yao has to take it from Shaq, which is much more exciting.
that was Robert Horry next to Shaq at the VMA's. well it does look like Shaq is getting into shape and im glad he lost weight which means less weight for Yao to have to bang against. J *ps its actually Will Smith.
As pissed as he is, if Shaq really did drop 30 pounds, he could return to 2000-circa Shaq. He's not a kid anymore, though, so he's more of an injury risk with each passing season. But if he *has* lost 30 pounds, it's not hard to imagine a return to his lofty career averages in the crappy Eastern Conference. We'll see.
How many seasons do you give him until he goes back to the Shaq of the past 4 years or so? The guy who would delay surgery because it wasn't on company time, always took a vacation mid season, etc. I say 1 season, maybe 2.
In a very real way, this could be the last great season from Shaq. He's more motivated than he's been in several years, he appears to be in fantastic shape, he's healthy and playing in an inferior conference. He could turn in career numbers. But he's 32 years old, and his *huge* body has absorbed an unbelievable amount of physical abuse over the years, too. He won't be able to "just" get in shape and dominate forever. It'll catch up to him eventually, probably sooner than later. Beyond this year, it's difficult to imagine him as motivated or healthy. This could be the final big push for the Big Aristotle.
He still looks fat, those clothes are far to loose to really tell. Shaq's best years are behind him....it is YAO time now baby !! DD
Put him in the Aussie women''s basketball uniform and we'd know for sure. Damn. The Aussies looked hot.
What is the name of No.15? Lauren Jackson? Damn she is hot! If I were YaoMing and I had to choose a basketball player as my gf, I definitely go after her. 7' 6 vs 6'5, what a perfect match! Stupid Yao.
