whats wrong with going with a team who wants rings?? thats like saying i dont want to go to a team that wants to win. Yea they could have went another way about joining that team but it is what it is. at the end of the day the Miami Heat are a team of people who want to win, nothing wrong with that.

Mo just sucked during the playoffs, taking the same shots that he could make during the regular season except he missed. Who else on that Cavs team do you want taking shots.

I don't have a problem with veterans who are in the twilight of their career chasing rings; I mean in the end it's the assessment of the team that signs them that they can still contribute no?

On the other hand, it's Lebron and Bosh who are your ringchasers proper, the ones Bill Simmons' reader called the Nazgul, the ones who could have stayed in their cities and solidified a legacy of leadership on their team and service to the community. But of course not, they bailed for the bright lights and hot nights. Lebron's taking his "services to Miami" alright, and getting a little service in return.

And whatever they win will never be theirs anymore. It'll be Dwyane Wade's, and if anyone cares to mention offhand that Lebron was that team's best player the same way A-Rod was the Yankees' best player in their championship recently, someone will always be there to quickly interject that no one will ever believe those championships to belong completely to those superstars. They won them on the backs of the true, proven leaders, the true, proven winners.

So take it for what you will. But Lebron is inexorably a villain in this next chapter of professional basketball.

comparing baseball to basketball is a terrible one. one player in baseball can't impact the team as much as basketball. i don't know why people keep doing that.

if dwayne wade makes the most impact out of the 3, it'll be considered his team. it just can't be his team b/c he has history there. if he leads them statistically, on and off the court, gets the MVP love... and so on, sure, everyone will consider it his team.

Is Shaq still in the NBA? His dominance ended when the officials finally had the sense to call his lowering the shoulder move as illegal. When his illegal move was finally called he had no other offensive move to rely on so he was finished.

Maybe you should try to convince all the Lebron-haters that.

I don't get why people are hating on players that want to win.
I'm sure fans want their players want to win and not just show up and play.

    WRONG.

Shaq's dominance ended when he got old, at age 33+

shaq averaged 17.8 pts and 8.4 boards per game as a 36 year old so I guess the apparent rule change on the illegal move didn't hurt him that much. Find me another 36 year old besides MJ who put up those kind of numbers

    Agree on entertainment value.

Though I think the issue is its more Shaq trying to stay relevant solely with his FAME now, making headlines with goofiness rather than his on-court contribution.

Shaq was an all star in west before traded to Cavs. LeBron made him a scrub as both needed the space under the hoop.

You expect Shaq to return to all-star form this season, then?

No, but I bet he's going to fit better than in Cavs. Shaq will be part of offense system. Not just setting pick for LeBron and watch him going one on one.
