i gues you mean on the offensive end. since there are quite some defensive players who can have a huge impact on a game without scoring.

    And i gues you forgot:
    Kidd, Nash and Yao?

Yao has yet to lead his team to a winning record even once when McGrady is out. He does a great job of keeping his team competitive, but we tend to ultimately lose more than win.

I don't think Yao is there yet as far as knowing how to flat out win, but that's clearly the next step in his development as a great player...they all go through it.

I would say Yao is more like KG in that respect.

yeah tiger covered the yao bit.

and nash and kidd aren't even close to being the kind of winners that shaq and duncan are. those guys deliver championships, end of.

I was one of the idiots who thought Shaq couldn't put up these numbers anymore. I knew he had another gear come playoff time but... dude is drinking "Deke's secret stuff"....Space Jam reference

I didn;t say Yao is the bst player at this time. I just said that i think Yao has a Huge influence on a game even if he does not score(because of the attention he gets every game).

Kidd and nash also have a huge influence on a game even if they do not score.

I do not agree with the statement that Shaq and Duncan are the only players who can have a huge impact on a game without scoring. That is all i said. So being able to win championships etc is not something i commented about.

IMHO Shaq is no longer able to have a huge impact on a game, especially if he is not scoring . I think he was an amazing player, but he just isn't that amazing anymore. He still is a good player but not amazing.

Just one thing - I heard that Shaq was the only one to skip the presentation of the '50 greatest players of the NBA' event during the 50th anniversary of the league or something like that... what was the story there?

What are Shaq's stats with Wade out? I took a brief glance and it looks like he is neither averaging 20 points or pulling down 10 boards (could be wrong but it's close).

Pretty good for his age but nothing to write home about.

Not sure, but I don't think its 20/10. At most very close to 20/10. But from what I seen, he shouldn't be close to 10 rb/game.

since the game wade got hurt, shaq's at 20.5/8.0. getting 3 apg but only .9 bpg.

after an initial burst started to slow down the last 5 games or so with 17/6 and only 4 rebounds each of the last 2 games.

I really would not mind playing the Heat in the Finals. I think that unless Wade gets the MJ treatment from the refs, we could handle them, as proven by the 2-0 record this season. And that would be a hell of a match up: Yao vs Shaq, Tmac vs Wade...I can only dream.

The Rockets can beat the Heat. We match up favorably against them.

It's the Suns and Mavs of the West that we have a tough time beating.
