Look purely intentional hard foul. But when a player fall and gets hurt like that, some considering that this should be a fine or a suspension. Fat Shaq pushes Tmac and than intentionally pushes Yao to start up crap.

You sir is a r****ded poster who keep on picking on Yao. Hard fouls makes you a dirty player and get you into foul trouble. If you going to hard foul every attempt, you are going to get foul out or injure a your opponents. They in return will give you the same hard foul treatment if you are that type of dirty players.

Stop with your Yao trolling. Yao isn't the only disappointing player on this team right now. Try picking on Artest and Tmac if you have the balls. I guess you don't have any.

Shaq definitely knows what he's doing. He knows when he pushes people around in the paint to dunk on people...hen he throws people to the ground...etc. He knows if he hits a dude like that in the air, he's falling hard. That should be a suspension if Barnes and Rafer get one for shoving where no one really got hurt.

I don't think he was picking on Yao. He was merely stating the fact that Yao lets players drive to the hoop for easy uncontested layups/dunks. If Yao made a hard foul like that regardless of the fact it being dirty or not players will definitely think twice about coming into the lane.

Furthermore, if you're going to call out other board members and call them "r****ded" at least use proper grammar and sentence structures.

That is the reason why I love the Rockets. Players on this team do not try to harm other players merely because a player was driving to the Hoop. Was Shaq trying to hit him? Only Shaq knows. I rather Yao let them drive to the hoop and swat the ball into the nosebleeds than to have him foul someone hard and have that player potentially be out for the season or a few months and hurt his team when their team has no relevance really to the Rockets success.

Shaq should be suspended, plain and simple.

I don't think Shaq has ever been known as a dirty player, but I'm sure he meant to foul him hard, and I imagine he is going to get a one game suspension.

Remember the good ol' days when the only way you get suspended was for punching someone?

In that case, the Rockets will either win or lose the next game.

Some of you have the idea that Shaq did not hit him that hard, the excuse is that Shaq is just too big, too strong and he only commits an average/ run of the mill foul. The fault is with the other guy because he is smaller.

Let me extend that argument and give a hypothetical situation.
What if there is a player five times as big and strong as Shaq, he only needs to put 1 finger on someone and the guy has a career ending injury.
Should that guy be punished if he puts a finger on someone?

The same argument goes with firearms.
A guy squeezes a trigger of a hand gun and kills a person.
Should he get the same sentence as the guy who squeezes a trigger of a cannon and kills 20 people?

Your making this way to complex.
It was a pretty hard foul, big deal. Go watch some old Pistons/Bulls games.....
The little guy should know better than to come in the big mans house.........
You come in my paint and I'm gonna lay you on your ass............

Although it was a vicious hit, I don't think Shaq is dumb enough to do that on purpose. He was having a great game and I see no reason why he'd want to take himself out of it. Flagrant 1 for me, Stuckey did some acting.

Intent doesn't matter when a flagrant foul is assessed. That being said, I agree that Shaq most likely didn't intend to foul him that hard.

You can say this is just a matter of taste. What kind of basketball you want to watch. I, for one, don't want to see basketball become football or hockey. I want to see basketball as a game of skills rather than brute force. Even football have rules to protect the less physical players such as the QBs and the kickers.

Serious, the modern NBA has gone through some major Eurofication. I think it's partially due to the larger influx of foreign players that are typically more fundamentally skilled but also not as physical, i.e. the game has gottent soft with new soft super stars.

You are full of it. How old are you?
I bet you did not watch the games in the 70s or 80s. All you do is repeat the crap these commentators spewed. They are full of it too.
While they had physical plays and physical players back then, it was not like they played tackled football back then.
You would not believe the calls the refs made in those days. Why the heck do you think they scored 110-130 pts then? You barely touched a hair of a guy going to the basket and a foul was called. For sure they had physical plays but they for sure were called fouls. They have always had flagrant fouls and ejections. You made it sound like they were allowed then. Bunch of BS.

Did you really watch any of those Pistons/ Bulls games?
Who on the Bulls committed any hard fouls?

Wow, some of you cats, especially the op are down-right women'ish. I watched his clip and Shaq clearly went for the ball and caught his arms. It should have just been a foul and nothing more. He should not have been ejected from game, but stuck should have got his free throws clearly a foul. He hit the ground. It happens. Did Shaq go full body smash, or throw a blow, or trip the dude? NO, he went for the ball and caught his arms and some ball. Some of you need to grow a pair. You sound like old women, whining about the weather.

A legitimate foul but a hard foul, Shaq is old school and that's how 90's ball was played, and they were called regular fouls back then. Flagrant II tops but even though he was ejected he should in no way, shape or form be suspended for this. I think Flag I was already a bad call, so that's punishment enough.

On a side not, I am still amazed that Shaq is playing this well this late into his career, he is definitely the most dominant center I have ever seen. He has to be near or at the top all time in terms of winning percentage and going deep into the playoffs. He still managed to battle Yao (the so-called best now) to a stand still. Hate him or love him, I have never seen a single player outside of Michael Jordan impact winning and losing as much as Shaq has in his career. No one even comes close.
