Josh Smith and Iggy would wipe the floor with Lebron. The fans will still vote for him though, and he'll end up winning anyways.
Thats really disappointing to me that lebron hasn't entered a dunk contest. He's one of the few one leg dunkers in the game right now. He has power, flash and pizzaz. All of the other great wing players have entersed from iceman to nique to jordan to clyde and so forth. For him to never enter at all is crazy.
What a seen, Vince entering in a wheelchair and leaving on a stretcher. That's what we all wanna see, not dunks.
As much as I dislike Shaq, this isn't a bad idea. That being said, it will never happen. The NBA will not allow a charity event to overshadow the 'official' NBA Dunk Contest. A watered down version with NBA 'Legends' is probably what it would negotiated down to...
McDonald's All-American Dunk Contest Nbudi (?) Ebi Von Wafer (fairly decent; if he had passing skills it would have been better) JR Giddens Shannon Brown (nice 360 @ 14 min mark) Travis Outlaw (chokes in a HS dunk contest as much as he chokes in the playoffs) ?? Lebron (just as you'd expect: little creativity and a lot of power/air)
Josh smith - hawks Dwayne Wade - heat jason richardson - suns Dwight Howard - magic Carmelo Anthony - nuggets Lebron James - cavaliers Gerald Wallace - bobcat Anthony Randolph - warriors winner Dwayne Wade Nough said.
Not too sure how feasible the dunk contest is, but maybe the 3 point or skills competitions. It would definitely bring more excitement to what has become a yawn of a Saturday night event and be for a good cause.
Looks like Shaq stole this idea like he did for his TV show, from one of his teammates. This is from Bill Simmons' twiiter acount:
