One more thing. The superstar catering mentality was on full demonstration during the Lakers-Suns series. Raja was just totally stupid in the way he handled it. He should have posted Bryant up and uppercut him with the same elbow that Kobe uppercutted him with. But still, that type of play from Kobe is nothing but attempting to intimidate. He learned very well from Karla how to do that. Karla would say over and over again he was just playing his game, he didn't mean anything by the flying elbows or the kicks to the groins, it was just the way he played. Kobe pulls the same lame bologna and will continue to uppercut the defender unless he is nailed for it. And what will happen is the defenders will finally figure out that he's not going to get called for it so they back off one step to avoid those uppercuts and wala, Kobe is free to throw wide open 17 footers. Then what will happen is everybody around the league will start mimicking that move and uppercutting their defender on the post up turn arounds. Before long it will be prevalent throughout the league and everybody will get away with it. Then there will be another young superstar come along that is a dominant offensive and defensive player that won't allow the extra step of space to avoid the uppercuts. He'll step up close to the post up player and take the contact and throw one back. Then the league will realize they can't kick out this young superstar that is carrying the league around in his hip pocket. So all of a sudden there will be an emphasis on calling that elbow uppercut and it will be overdone so that the new superstar will know if he just bodies up on his man that he is going to get the offensive foul call. And then all of a sudden the league will be off on another tangent the other way. Balance. Just do your job and call the game right.
