haha, lol, well, I know I know, your response I knew someone was going to bring this up. but the wiser ones out of all of us should realise Morey probably does not value Battier anywhere near as highly as he used to and as high as some of us have been rating him here on this bbs. you say he shut players down?? huh? did an elephant eat a lion today? He has been a good defender, but look at him without Yao in the middle to patrol the paint, he got abused by Kobe in that OT game at the beginning of the season.. remember that kobe posting up battier on the last player of regular time?? with scola coming to double team and then kobe kicked it out to ron for a wide open 3 to lead by 3? without yao battier could do nothing to help. and brandon roy was always being guarded by ariza this season. ariza did a brilliant job in that artest-shoe-throwing-bonanza, and ariza is the next posey, not battier.

battier is fading, gotta accept that young man ;)

    You don't want a 16 ppg 5apg scorer shooting at 45 percent?

Wow, jason terry, really? Last i time i checked Terry actually steps up. Mo, not so much. It's like trying to get Mike james after he broke out, bad idea. Not to mention Lowry is our guy off the bench. Waste of an expiring and waste of a roster spot.

He plays consistent defense. Mo Williams plays inconsistent offense.

We don't need a PG. We have two pretty good ones on better contracts.

If you start making trades for people because they have good stats, regardless of whether or not they fit or unbalance the roster, you end up with Isiah Thomas's Knicks.

I bet you'd also like to have a career 19.3 ppg 9.7 rpg 50% shooter.

I would take Jason Terry and his crotch punching, cliche answers giving, smug face any day of the week over Mo Williams.

Jeffries PLUS filler? Isn't Jeffries filler himself?! Any potential filler we may have is better than he is.

P.S. - Mo Williams is overrated and his success (and subsequent overrating) is mostly a product of being LeBron's team mate. Aaron Brooks is better. A lot better. Mo Williams is nothing like Jason Terry.

Mo Williams is a no go for me. Our offense is already good and we need an defensive presence in the paint. I actually enjoyed watching Jeffries play, he was a solid defender for us but man his scoring is atrocious.

thats the point. jefferies, while being only good enough to be a filler in trades, can be thE actual trade chip in this case. why wouldnt you want a all star for some random filler that has no value other than matching contracts in our trades anyways?

and his 32 year oldness and lesser shooting percentage and crappier rebounding and all those factors that actually matter?

    Jason Terry's career playoff FG%: 43.8% with a TS% of 54%; 37.2% 3pt

    Mo Williams' career playoff FG%: 42% with a TS% of 53%; 34% 3pt

And rebounding factors into point guard play??? Unless you're Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo or Jason Kidd of the 90s, rebounding for a point guard is a rare commodity.

But, yes, I will take a Jason Terry with a better FG% and better TS% in the playoffs over the worst sidekick-to-an-elite-player this century has seen since god I don't know when.

stats are cute but they can be very misleading.. I for one like intangibles far more than big numbers.. for instance, how does a player handles pressure and is he clutch, Mo is not that, and altho I cant stand Jason Terry he is super clutch and Mo is invincible in the playoffs

stats are great for the regular season and non-pressure moments but not for playoffs

Nice cherry picking of stats there. I never knew a player was only judged on post-season performances. ............

you say mo williams dissappeared in the postseason,...whoa, then that jason terry which actually "showed up" is a pretty scrubby player..... a "no-show" player, got beaten by a "showed-up" player, by only 1 % TS %?? thats gotta say something about the talent level difference between them two. Imagine if that "no-show" player actually showed up...

We have lots of weapons, so if Mo was misfiring in the playoffs, we have Aaron, Luis, (Bossssssssssh),, Yao, and Kevin to do all the scoring. Mo will never have to try to be the Pippen that he was thrusted in to be but was never fit for the job.

Mo just needs a change of niche.
