HA, but yeah, he's got to have more stamina over power to play THIRTY PLUS minutes a game :)

Really all players struggle to keep their muscle mass over the course of the season. They come bigger and leave smaller, i've hear kobe complain about that.

Shane is a dumbell guy. He works nothing but arms and aerobic type. He has a weak core thats why he leans sorta forward or hunchback.Theres exercises that can fix that posture. Tmac has very strong hamstrings/explosion that over power his weak low back leading to back injuries. Trainer f'd him up.

Weight exercises open up your lung capacity. Kobe lost his mass purposely in the olympics to become faster. BAD IDEA.

What I mean by "experienced" people who have been lifting weights by following a specif routine and eating a proper diet for at least 1 year, not people coming out of high school with no idea how to train effectively.

How about people that went to college and got a degree on nutrition and weight training ,yet they are out of shape and are NBA trainers? are those experienced?

I was originally talking about NBA players and their experience with weight training, not NBA trainers.

And yes, they are indeed experienced. Just because they are out of shape doesn't mean they're not experienced (since they have a degree on nutrition). Would you say Magic Johnson and Charles Barkley are not experienced basketball players because they're now out of shape? Or that Jeff Van Gundy is not an experienced coach because he doesn't coach anymore?

You said Battier was muscular in another thread, but now you've spent this entire thread looking for excuses and justifications as to why he's not. I guess consistency isn't your thing. I also guess you missed my posts in the Brandon Jennings and Iverson threads. I started a thread on Ariza receiving his championship ring, which I believe you posted in as well. Have you ever even started a thread on this website? Again, why is that you always have the most posts in any Battier thread?

    1. Quote me then. You've done it before, why not search for my quote now? Maybe because it doesn't benefit your argument...

    2. I've spent most of the time on this thread talking about weight training and not about Shane Battier, but acknowledging that wouldn't help your argument either, would it?

    3. Wow then that's three non battier threads you've posted in, one of which wasn't even in the last week, and two which really aren't about the rockets. that still means most of your rockets related posts are in Battier threads.

    4. What does starting a thread have to do with ANYTHING? If you haven't noticed, which you haven't since you don't come in here except for when there's a shane thread, it doesnt take much to start a thread here, starting one doesn't automatically give anyone credibility.

    5. Maybe I post a lot in battier threads because there's a lot of them popping up every week and i regularly post here, so it's likely at some point i'll get around to them like i do with othersl..and once i post in them some poster named Kwame is going to reply to me a gazillion times and keep bugging me if i don't reply, therefore my post count will increase when i do reply..... It just takes a little common sense to figure it out...

I can't read minds and dont put words in my mouth. And I said trainers not nba players or Jeff van gundy.

So keith jones was in shape at one time? Look at his strength to weight ratio body.

Basketball players will never be known for their strength in comparison to say baseball or football. They run too damned much and are probably the best conditioned athletes in ball sports. Some could argue soccer, but I'll have to disagree because a hella lotta energy is expended in jumping.

That being said, I heard on the Wizards game the other night that Earl Boykins can bench 300+. That is ridiculous.
