while i agree, you'd be surprised how many nba players actually look like that...even the top ones. Weight lifting is not seen in a good light by most players, not to mention it's hard to maintain a large amount of muscle over an 82 game season.
Players that lift weights have a tendency of go get it personality, aggressive, rebound strong, attack basket. Lebron james and ron artest are examples of meatheads I speak of. Shane looks like a marathon runner and plays like one too .
Here I go with my weight preaching again.Im not stopping till im in an nba team staff Mj would hit the weights hard before a game and still compete at a high level . MJ is a hater saying he doesnt understand the physics of jumping higher when he clearly punish himself of squats and deadlifts. Contradiction? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PsuwO1QaV8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRR0QQrxxM0
Have you seen Ron's workouts? He hardly lifts weights, the guy is naturally gifted in that he doesn't need to do too much to gain muscle mass. I'm not sure about lebron's workouts, but guys who lift significantly are the minority in the league.
actually, that evidence wouldn't be allowed in court since it's a fictional music video this tyoe of evidence, although not about ron himself, would probably be allowed though to show some players are just gifted and most refuse to lift: http://my.lakers.com/blogs/2009/06/30/wait-shannon-brown-doesnt-lift-weights/
You actually believe that Brown doesn't lift weights, and that Artest doesn't lift heavy to get that much muscle mass? That's all complete bull.
"In fact, late in the season, Brown explained to us that while he did do some lifting in high school and at Michigan State, he has basically stayed away from weight training since entering the NBA." It's kind of hard to twist that. My Pops played in the NFL, and he always talks about how SEVERAL of the real beasts were just beasts naturally. No weight lifting, nothing. Ever seen "Friday Night Lights"?
Why wouldn't I? The lakers' own trainer is on that link being interviewed and says he doesnt. Maybe Brown would lie to make himself seem more gifted, but why would the trainer lie? You don't have to lift weights to gain muscle mass, there's other possible options. If you naturally hold more weight, have heavier bones, things like that, thenyou can gain some nice size by doign calisthenics, on the other hand, some skinny dude would not gain much size even if he can do 100s of them. I've seen videos of artest's workouts, mostly used resistance bands and body weight, i have no reason to believe he's lying. Could he be? Yes, anyone could be, but is it possible to do it? Definitely, so i'll believe him until i see or hear otherwise.
Chances are they're both lying, but I also don't know why the trainer might lie about it. In my opinion, I just don't think it's possible to have a great physique and not lift weights to keep your body in shape (although I'm sure he does enough cardio to maintain his "cutness"). Also, we've only seen vids of Artest using resistance bands and doing body weight training, but that will keep him ripped (meaning he has that cut shape), but to get that much muscle mass which Artest also clearly has, it requires long-term heavy resistance training with dumbells/barbells, etc. It's possible to gain up to 10 pounds of muscle mass a year, but if someone says they did it over the summer for example, it's likely bull. And Knote, not saying the documentary is inaccurate, or you're wrong to believe it, but don't believe everything you read about on the news or watch on TV.
chances are they're both lying? Why? Ron may do it because he's crazy, but brown isn't, there's nothing to gain. Some teammate would just rat them out later. And it is NOT necessary to use dumbells/barbells to gain that much muscles mass. There's idfferent kinds of resistance bands out there, with varying resistance, anywhere from 5 to 90 pounds or more. If used correctly you definitely can look like Ron. Terrel Owens trains with bands as well, even has his own line of resistance bands. It's also very possible to gain more than 10 pounds of muscle in a year, and, perfectly possible to gain it a summer, assuming the summer is almost 3 months. It's not impossible at all, you just need to provide a lot of resistance in full body workouts, eat well enough, and rest when needed. Obviously if they're saying they gained 10 lbs of bicep size, then yeah that's bull, but overall it's very possible.
Ask some expert if it's possible to gain more than 10 pounds of muscle in a year, or if it's possible to gain 10 pounds of muscle over the summer, since you don't believe me. There's a difference between gaining 10 pounds of muscle, and gaining 10 pounds. If you're talking about gaining 10 pounds, all you have to do is intake massive calories into your daily diet and you can do it over the summer no problem. I know dumbells and barbells are not the only resistance equipment, that's why I said "etc". Lol, Knote very helpful. If you're implying that guy gained all that muscle because of a picture of him using a jump rope, then... /facepalm
