How could you not want that guy on your team. He's a winner! and for a sports star positively erudite. (erdukeite?)

I love what Battier brings to the table. I expect some good things this year. Hopefully we can get some quality help behind Rafer and Yao.

If we can stay healthy, we're gonna be good.

Battier's media interviews are almost too perfect... like Anthony Robbins.

    Battier scares me.

"I'm lucky to be playing with two super-duper stars, not just All-Stars, super-duper stars." Super-duper stars. Hmmm...

Just work hard, and be better than Gay.

Alrite..."super-duper" is pretty low on the vocabulary scale, but I gotta give shane props for the offensive lineman analogy. It was off-the-charts insightful, but compared to some other NBA player analogies, Shane shows some smarts...

Take Shaq's gem from last season:

"I've just been riding the bike, that's all I've been doing. But riding the bike and basketball are two different things. It's just like going to a regular beach and going to a nude beach. It's two different things."

I know shaq was trying to be funny, but i think the comparison makes a point.

    My favorite quote

"I think I can take a load off of Tracys BACK by facing the tuffest offensive player, allowing him to run around and score 50"

    that gives me goosebumps

"I know I will have alot of open shots, and it will be my job to put them down"

Sounds like something my grandpa would say. As long as this nerd can ball that's all I care about. Super-Duper are @ss to the NBA final Dude.

I'm really liking what Battier has to say.... It's such a pleasure to see a player put the team first and his stats second; and you know it's not just lip service as that was his MO in Memphis. Some might think he takes this 'help first' stance as a cop out to offensive point production, but I see it more as a supremely confident player who knows if he provides the intangibles personal stats are secondary. I still wish we would have gotten a throw in on the Battier trade (at least a scrub or 2nd rounder) but the Rockets needed his type of player bad and I'd do it all over again.

Not sure Novak will get any PT, but we are putting together a very smart team. Just a guess, but I'm guessing Battier helps Snyder focus and that would be a big boost.
