Does anyone know the 21 States that are smaller than the City of Houston?
I would think some of these States have an NBA team.

The 3rd most populous county (Harris) in the USA, and he doesn't want a Modern Arena? Give me a break!!!

Hey guys, I've been following this from a distance, and just wanted to wish you some luck on keeping the Rockets in Houston. No team should move (unless it's getting out of LA).

Besides, it wouldn't be the same beating you guys if you were in Kentucky! [IMG]

    Hey Eckels,

Remember the last elected official that let one of our professional teams get away? Remember the political backlash? So, what are you trying to do, top it by letting 3 teams get away all at once? You are an elected official & can be voted out of office. If you want to retire, then just do what the rest of us do, just give your notice. Don't STEAL something that us little people enjoy very much. I know that you are the mighty politician & that we as taxpayers are your sujects to kick around as it amuses you, NOT! Wake up & smell the coffee butthead, you are an employee of the taxpayers & can be FIRED! Your actions on this matter are totally irresponsible. You know how important this is to the fans & you decide to make this announcement just before going on vacation. If the Rockets, Comets, & Thunderbears leave town because of your irresponsible actions, it is my sincere hope & committment to have you voted out of office. I can't speak for SOR, but I hope they will use their considerable resources to achieve that end.

Do you think they would take an out of state phone call? You know, from New York?

By the way, don't you just love speed dial?

I like the Ideas of calling him collect and sending him 50 Pizzas. We can make him pay for his gayness.

I've gotten the same message. Has anyone else gotten the same message? Maybe Eckels turned off his server somehow as well as going on vacation.

I got the same message as Hoop-T and the rest of you when I sent it through Jeff's system, but not when I did it through sending the email myself. Copy Jeff's letter and mail it yourself to the email listed on the site. It's the subject line I think that they have blocked. Just title your message "Houston" or "Question" or "Judge..."- something of that nature. I got the below message with a copy of his letter to the Sports Authority below it when I sent him an email myself.

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the proposed downtown basketball arena for the Houston Rockets. Attached is a copy of a letter to Sports Authority Chairman Billy Burge outlining several points that I believe must be addressed in the current proposal. I first raised these concerns before the Authority approved the agreement but no changes were made at that time. I
understand that they are now willing to work with me to resolve these issues.

    Thank you again for writing.

    Robert Eckels
    County Judge

Why don't we send him 50 annoying singing telegrams that voice our views & have all the news teams there to see him squirm?

    Hottoddie,
That sounds good, but who is going to fund that? I don't think you can do a C.O.D. in the singing telegram business.

Oh, be sure to use 1-800-collect....Alyssa Milano is a cutie!!

    Cat,
Thanks for the advice....I copied the letter, and sent it myself directly.

    ALL,
Follow this advice and let's see how much success we have. Eckels may have blocked the address from Jeff's system.

Why dont we just go all out, secretly drug him so he is very dazed, bring to a real bad part of town and put him on a room with a couple of coke snorting hookers. Through some marked bills in his pocket, a little bit of cyrstal meth, and have a letter in his pocket addressed to Chuck Watson (that hes about to send) thanking CHuck for his "GENEROUS" donations in order to kill the arean deal permanently and to screw Houston fans forever etc, etc. Then we can hire someone to plant little seeds of evidence that he has actually had a really really shady past that has never come to light. Someone calls to cops to alert them to Eckels situation, the cops arrive, its a big public affair, people dont believe Eckels when he says he didnt do it and cant remember what happened because we all now know about his checkered past and the man goes down burning, and the arena is severly strenghthened. OR, we can just call oand order him some pizzas.
