Hey guys, I don't know if you read shamsports, but its basically a really nerdy dude who talks about everything salary cap related. The post goes in depth on how the Miami Heat and other teams added pieces this summer through oddball contracts that circumvented rules. Sham talks about the standard rookie contracts signing methods and the league trend from team options to partially guaranteed final years (gets pretty technical). He also predicts specific salary dumps by teams over the luxury tax and has a few things to say about the Rockets. Anyways, its a great piece. http://blog.shamsports.com/2010/08/creative-financing-in-nba-2010_12.html
We are OVER the cap just about every year. The important level is the luxury tax... it was definitely a factor in the Ariza trade
