Ransom of second round picks maybe. You gotta be delusional to think his trade value isn't rock bottom at this point. Morey is better off rehabbing his value instead trading him. What team would give up multiple picks to take on his contract after that playoffs performance

How can he suck with a name like Caris?
Afro man should get a max contract just for the aesthetic.

I think its delusional to think a 24 year old 3x all-star and 2x All NBA player has 'rock bottom' trade value.

He's not getting anything close to a "ransom" of picks now. Maybe a semi-useful overpaid player in the Eric Gordon mold with salary filler and a couple of lottery protected firsts.

His value was probably nowhere close to as high as CF thought when we were looking to trade Harden and it has to be drastically lower now.

Did you tune out this series. I'm asking a serious question.

He's a 24 year old that has regressed on offense much that he is scoring single digits in the playoffs and straight up getting sat in crunch time. Oh and he's owed 140 mm dollars for the next 4 years.

He is 24 years old and still shoots like when he was 20. All those awards are regular season awards. His glaring deficiency has been exposed in the playoffs. Yes, his trade value is at rock bottom now. It may bounce back if he shows improvement in his shooting next season. But right now, it's not "what he had accomplished in the past" but "what he has done lately, which is abysmal."

Btw another lowkey genius Morey move : Kevin Heuter put up a career high carving up no defense Seth Curry for the win. Nice trade ******!

I agree Brown's value was drastically higher than Simmons' back then. A Harden for Brown trade in a vacuum would have been pretty fair, but was kind of weird for the Celtics since Harden alone wasn't a clear put them over the top move and the Brown/Tatum pairing makes a lot of sense. Brown also would have been kind of weird for where we are it in our rebuild too.

MPJ's value was in reality probably a decent bit higher than Simmons' then too but that was DEFINITELY not the prevailing sentiment on CF or among NBA fans/media back then. I really wonder if there's a way we could have turned Tucker (who Denver for sure could have used before getting Gordon) and Harden into MPJ if that had been the focus. Maybe not.

Simmons still has value in this league, but he is not going to get the Sixers the kind of player they actually need. Morey should have traded his ass immediately when he got to Philly. His greedy ass should of attached every unprotected pick to compete with Harden and Embiid.

Everyone of us knows damn well how ****ing small that opening is when you have a chance to compete for a title. You would think Morey knew better.

Simmons still has the young guy aura that a team may give up some value for him and he is still good enough defensively to be a good player for you in the regular season. All bets are off after that though. Morey needs to get rid of Doc as well.

Morey was too cute trying to squeeze the price of the Harden deal. He had a chance to BOTH get Harden AND get rid of Simmons's contract.

I said this months ago, fraud Morey is going to drive Embiid out of Philly just like how he drove Harden out of Houston. Simmons is a positive contributor over the course of a season yet he is deeply flawed where you can't win in the playoffs with him when exploited. That means, with that contract, Morey can't trade him for anything less(because then the team would be worse) and can't trade him for anything more (since his trade value has now plummeted). Once again Morey has held on to an asset for too long and got his hand caught in the cookie jar. There is no way out of this situation except Embiid's eventual departure (and Morey's firing).

Like his old boss, Morey and Ainge just have permanent cold feet, they are p*****s, can't pull the trigger. Tried to nickel and dime on Harden, couldn't pull the trigger on Lowry, and now he is stuck, again.

Keyboard warriors on clutchfans are quick to blame everything on Tilman for pulling the trigger on the Westbrook trade but ask yourself how did it get to that point? Harden was on his way out already unless the Rockets did something drastic, because Morey wasted years of Harden without putting a legit contender around him besides 1 year. Harden gave us his entire prime and Morey could only give him ONE freakin year of contending roster? This is why after seeing how everything played out in Houston I realized what a complete fraud Morey was, and knew exactly how things would end up in Philly.

Morey brought value to a franchise by implementing analytics when there was a dearth of analytics 10 years ago. Today, with every franchise having an analytics department, merely using it is no longer an advantage, you actually have to be smart again to get ahead. Time and again, Morey has proven himself to be book smart, but a dumbass in the real world. That's a fraud.

One year from now, and Morey may offer Simmons for John Wall (1 year contract vs 3)

Postgame quotes were ROUGH. There's no chance Morey brings that roster back. Honestly a Ben Simmons for John Wall swap makes sense. Sure Stone wanted Thybulle, Maxey, and picks, but I wouldn't doubt him wanting Simmons based on potential. Simmons isn't a go-to option. So much pressure in Philly, he needs a new start. His contract looks really bad and I know Marc Spears said Simmons didn't want to be in Houston, but he has no choice. 76ers are in turmoil now and I don't see a Simmons and picks package landing Lillard, Beal, or any player that moves the needle. 76ers and Blazers are both stuck at the moment.

Still a dumb trade for the Mavs to trade Curry for Josh Richardson. 76ers roster honestly so weird. Having Tobias Harris and Seth curry as main scoring options just isn't ideal lol.
