Intention doesnt matter when you are talking about cause and effect. Cause and effect deals with ACTIONS. Intention is all in the mind. It matters when you are sentencing someone but regardless whether the charge is manslaughter or murder but will the charge bring your wife back to life? No. Will the intention change the fact the dude ran over your wife? No. Intention has no effect on the reality of the situation. You can say intention changes your opinion of the capability of the GM meaning is he skilled or just lucky, but it doesnt change the fact KPJ only got to Houston cuz of the trade.

When you are listing packages its just a simple list of pros and cons right? Cuz of this trade you have asset ABC, this trade has asset DEF. If you take the Simmons package guess what KPJ is not wearing a houston rockets uni. Thats a fact right? There is no way KPJ is on the rockets if we took the Simmons package. So its DUMB not to count him in cuz he would be gone if we didnt take the Nets package. All the stuff you say about KPJ being a risk blah blah blah, thats irrelevant to the situation. Point is we only have KPJ cuz of the Nets trade, any other info like luck, fluke, risk whatever are all irrelevant. KPJ by himself is more valuable than Thybulle and Maxey combined so that just leaves you with 3 unprotected picks, 3 swaps and 1 protected FRP vs 2 protected picks and Ben simmons. Is Simmons gonna be worth 3 unprotected swaps and 2 unprotected picks from another team? Doubt it. So just by simple logic you can see Nets package is better whether you keep or flip Simmons. Its as simple as that.

Simmons only played 25 mins in a do or die game. Clearly his "value" doesnt outweigh the fact that he is a huge ass liability on offense. Add in his max salary and you dont have an appetizing asset for other teams.

Those stats are wrong clearly Simmons and Thybulle's defense are whats making Sixers win games.

If you trace what happened to those draft picks and players it was actually a genius move to move Melo for Shro. Melo was pretty much a dead asset with no value who would get bought out by the Hawks and sign for the Rockets and get cut later on. To go from Melo to Shro they gave a lottery protected 2022 pick which will almost surely fail to convey. In exchange for Shro they got a Lakers 1st which turned into Jaden McDaniels that they flipped for Poku who they're trying to develop. They also got Danny Green who was traded for Horford and a 2025 Philly 1st. And now we know Horford got back another 1st and Kemba has a chance to get something back in the future as well. By giving up that one pick to turn Melo into Shro they recharged the value of that asset and have since made back 3 1sts and counting.

    damn…this is so sad

leaving the rim and backboard all battered and bruised before the game even starts

u just know the rim needs some Ibuprofen and an ice pack after a Ben Simmons shootaround

So glad Stone didn’t take that Philly package around Ben Simmons. I’ll gladly take the chance that one of our plethora of Brooklyn picks/swaps end up being better than Simmons. Possibly more than one

I can see why he is a bad shooter. A good shooter will not have balls go all over the court. J.Lucas can fix that.

How can you shoot 32% free throws as a guard when you're getting paid $168M?

Is that like being paid $168M to be a racing driver and now knowing how to drive stick?

What are you practicing all day every day? Twitter? Money counting? Fortnite?

    Reading is fundamental you DF.

No one said that Ben Simmons, Thybulle and Wood are a championship contender.

Simmons, Thybulle, Wood are just a helluva better unit than Dipo, Kurucs, Wood.

That is undeniable. How many picks/swaps in Simmons trade is unknown because Stone never gave Morey opportunity to better Nets offer.

    #Fact

And if YOU really gave AF about fielding a championship contender then you and your ignorant ilk don't cry like a b**** about moving Harden and nauseum.

Glad we didn't get scammed by Morey. Simmons is what he has always been and safe to say he will never improve.
He hasn't even improved by 10% all these years in the league, let alone to learn magically how to shoot or score in the half court just because he wears a Rockets jersey as some deluded people here believed.
