Jimmy Butler - I am from Tomball. Not from Houston.

Dillon Brooks is younger and defends Jalen Green gets injured by DeRozan on a Flagrant Foul.

    Dillon defended Jalen.

Personally I want Butler. I think we can win a title with him. The problem is coming to a workable deal. I'll be pissed to see Thompson or Eason moved.

Only if those picks are heavily protected, otherwise hard pass

    They won't bite.
You'll have to give up at least Jabari Smith Jr. But they will be asking for Eason and/or Thompson.

I think you may give that up for Giannis at 30 but not Butler at 35. And I wouldn't gut our PF (or any) lineup completely. Butler has one or two more productive years left. Giannis has 5 or more

That still doesn't take away from my original point, Jimmy would become a distraction when these on and off court issues arise.

    Thibs couldn't do it
    Brett Brown couldn't do it
    Spoelstra couldn't do it

But somehow Ime is gonna corral him in? Highly unlikely.

On top of that the cost is too great for us to waste picks and players on. Hard pass.

Pat Riley is the absolute worst in making trades with. He will take 3 young stars and a 1st Rd pick for Jimmy Butler.

Jimmy Butler is only worth a 1 - 1st Rd Pick in mid 18-24

Pat Riley and Daryl Morey (now Phi) are the worst.

    To Houston
    Duop Reeth
    Jimmy Butler

    To Blazers
    Landale
    Holiday

    To Heat
    Tate
    Uncle Jeff
    Stephen Adams
    Dalano Banton
Rockets 2025 FRP top 5 protected.
    Future FRP top 15 protected.

Butler opts in to next year.

    Sengun/Smith/Reeves(3 pt shooting big)
    Smith/Eason
    Butler/Brooks/Cam
    Green/Amen
    FVV/Reed

i’m not tremendously worried about the spacing. I don’t think Brooks is going to maintain 40% and I think that the quality of the three pointers taken improve with Butler on the court.

we sacrifice a couple first rounders that ultimately have some value to Miami, but we don’t necessarily need to be adding those players to the roster.

And we get a guy for the next two years, represents our best player and who knows how legitimate this could make us. It might open a nice little two or three year window on its own or at least put us in position for an off-season trade to bring In a big fish that thinks we are tailor-made for a championship.

We will have all sorts of trade flexibility in the summer as we would still retain a lot of top draft capital and the contracts if needed.

We lean into the concept of Jabari being the back up center. And continue to figure out if it’s green or Whitmore as the number one perimeter option as the future.

That still sticks out to me as weird. Obviously a shot at Jalen but why?

Idk that I'd take Jimmy Butler for free. Snubs go two ways brocephus.

For teams on the rise, there’s no better combination of circumstances than to be winning and still have a cupboard full of promising young players and assets. That’s a luxury these Rockets are enjoying.

Yet while they spent the months heading into last season’s trade deadline looking for another star, team sources say that’s not the case heading into the Feb. 6 deadline. Not only did they secure extensions with Jalen Green (three years, $106 million) and Şengün (five years, $185 million), but the early success has only bolstered the internal belief that this group is worth analyzing from now until the summertime.

As it pertains to the Miami Heat’s Jimmy Butler, who is known to be available and reportedly has the Rockets on his list of preferred destinations, team sources say it’s highly unlikely they’ll pursue the 35-year-old, six-time All-Star from nearby Tomball, Texas. As was the case with Harden, age is an undeniable factor in the calculus. And while Butler is an elite two-way player who could turn these Rockets into title contenders immediately, it appears there’s still an aversion to the prospect of adding any star in his mid-to-late 30s.

He will end up in either Golden State or Milwaukee.

We don't have any playoff time killers on this roster.
