I feel Mr. Jimmy is using Rockets to get Mavs to come proper.
(Mavs have been inquiring on Butler for weeks)

But let's make the Mavs spend more....

Houston in: Jimmy Butler / Kel'el Ware
    x
Miami in: Dillon Brooks / Tate / Reed Sheppard / Steven Adams

    works on fanspro trade machine

Cam Whitmore, JaeSean Tate, Steven Adams and picks that’s all I’d give.

I wouldn't make this trade, but if you let Eric Spoelstra coach Reed Sheppard, his career trajectory will change drastically. That's a coach that knows how to develop shooters and talent.

His efficiency is still quite good and he's a playoff high performer. If the price is right, I'd do it. Probably moves Brooks or Jabari Smith to the bench, which isn't a bad things come playoff time.

MIA saying they're willing to listen, is a reminder that Riley and Jimmy's agent are still apart on his extension. Both sides not seeing eye to eye on how much and how long. As time is dwindling, they're flirting with options or at least an appearance of it, if to pressure the other side on negotiation.

Does MIA care about Jimmy's preferred list? All three listed are in the west, away from eastern conference. Out of DAL, GSW and HOU. DAL is most unlikely if they're keeping Kyrie and Luka. Even if offer Klay, lot of depth would be sacrificed. The possibly GSW (Wiggins and/or Kuminga) vs whatever maybe packages Rockets might consider.

If Rockets get Jimmy, is the intent to only rent him this season and his next year. Or does Rockets plan to extend Jimmy beyond? If beyond, then HOU would run into the same situation as MIA. Jimmy also has a player option next year. If Stone pays Jimmy, there's less in the pot to start paying the next batch of the core: Tari and Bari, assuming none of them goes to MIA in a deal.

Sengun and Green can't be traded mid season since they just got extended. They're safe.

Getting a deal package could be costly. As MIA won't let Jimmy go unless a wow offer. Conversations could be had, but MIA and HOU are likely far apart to start.

Does Denver, OKC, MEM, or Spurs want in? If Jimmy does come to the west, could he make the west more stacked than it already is.

I don't want Jimmy because he would end up an old age player rental. But I want Cuban to spend more.

No comment on Reed. Herro and Duncan can shoot on the move.

If you put Cam and Reed in Heat uniforms under Spolestra's watchful eye, they'll mature into fantastic players. He might even be able to turn Jalen into a shooter.

The Heat have to find a Butler package interesting enough to make the Rockets answer the phone. They have a few players who would look nice in Rockets red. For example, Duncan Robinson would look fantastic next to Sengun.

I'm terrified of how Spo might unlock Reed and Cam.

Then he stays in Miami. Costs 50 mill; expiring, looking to get paid, injury prone, 35 years old, non shooting wing. He’s a hell of a talent but CP3 to PHX is the realistic market value at this point.

If Miami wanted a wow return, the 2021 off-season, coming off their 4 game sweep, him being just 31, was the beyond obvious time to move off from him for a nice return. Expecting it now would be beyond silly

Can you even realistically play Sengun, Amen and Butler without teams packing the paint all game?

If you're going to build don't start with a major handicap. What's the rush? The team is killing it and improving all the time. We can do it any time between now and next season's deadline.

We shouldnt give ****. He is expiring and wants max deal.

Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, JJJ these should be the targets.

I don’t even know if I’d want him starting. Brooks unexpectedly stole my heart

How sweet it is for these players to look at us.

My answer is NO! I want more attention from these players, hopefully we dont waste any players or draft capital on Butler. Save the ammo!

Yes exactly my point. We don't need a vet like Jimmy to make us marginally better this year. Cuz I don't think prime LeBron would help us win it all this year. We are just to young and raw of a team. But we are playing great definitely overachieving so far this year.
