Not sure who posted it, but it was something about the lack of shots at the rim that the Suns get. It is really hurting their team - esp. with a roster full of players who would normally get those calls at the rim. (Could be players trying to avoid injury :shrug emoji: )

The Suns do not have a good rim rolling center. Neither Nurkic or Plumlee are that guy. Also, Booker, Durant, Beal and Tyus Jones are good jump shooters that do most of their work either behind the three point-line or in the mid range. In other words, the Suns are one of the least athletic teams in the NBA, which is a big reason they get so few points at the rim.

Booker and KD don't drive as much, they rather jump shoot. For Booker, that's been his MO for a long time now.

Sun's losing has a lot to do with their terrible defense. If the offense is not hot enough, they are usually in trouble. That and injuries.

Hence why Jimmy is pushing to get there. All about the money. I don't see how they get him there without giving up Booker though.

Prolly going to end up a 3 team trade

    PHX - MIA - DET

PHX: Himmy (MIA) + protected 2026 MIA FRP (lottery protected; converts to 2 2nds if not conveyed in 2026)

MIA: Booker (PHX) + 2031 PHX FRP (top 10 protected; converts to 2 2nds if not conveyed in 2031)

DET: Burks (MIA) + 2031 SRP via MIA

    Why a FRP from MIA? b/c 28 vs 34

I could also see NO picks from PHX to MIA.

Extensions for old ass KD and Butler ---- old and have heavy minutes on them.... are they going to pull Bob Cousey out of the old folks home on a 4 year deal to run the point? If I am Booker I am signing the longest contract extension with the Suns under the CBA so I can get paid before the owner throws a tantrum and complains that he cannot buy a title in the NBA like he hoped.

Unless Booker demands out, Phoenix isn’t giving up Booker for a 35-year-old Butler. Butler is going to have to expand his list of teams or accept that he will get to move on in the offseason.

I don’t see Booker requesting a trade by February’s trade deadline.

Me either.... but anything is possible.

I think PHX owner wanted to make a splash when he bought team. He did. Now the basketball guys have to talk some sense into him.

Resigning both of those oft injured geriatrics to extensions is stupid.

No way Phoenix gives up Booker for Jimmy and one pick and also give up a pick. Ridiculous. We might not want Booker anymore, at least I don't, but if they trade him it will be for matching salary and at least 3 FRP's and probably more like 5.

How stupid is Phoenix's front office? How stupid is Riley (he's not). No way Riley takes on Beal's contract. That leave's Booker. Booker can probably get 4-5 Frp's and a decent player. Phoenix would have to be the dumbest organization in the history of the NBA to trade Booker for Jimmy just to make Durant happy.

Maybe they could send Book out if they can get picks back with Jimmy and sort of have their cake and eat it too? Continue to be mediocre but also get trade assets they can use to improve during the offseason? But the problem is that Miami only has like 1 tradable FRP in the next five years. A three-team deal could make sense, but made challenging by Phoenix's inability to bundle players together for salary matching purposes. It would by necessity almost have to be something like, third team gets Booker, Phoenix gets Butler and draft picks, Miami gets a PuPu platter of useful roleplayers.

The thing is, I don't know if Phoenix is doing it even then. Another organization in the same circumstances might, but that would be at best a lateral move and probably a downgrade, and they just don't like to do that in service of acquiring mere draft picks.
