It shows Stone has them by their Suns.

Man today could have had three posts of the day. Kendrick bringing the heat, or at least the thoughts in the back of his mind to print.

Awesome. Cost the Suns some bench talent, then likely miss a bunch of games with injuries again. Makes our picks even better.

Asks out in a year when Booker and KD also ask out because they all hate each other because losing and getting old sucks.

Dude just wants to force his way there because it’s the only team guaranteeing him an extension.

Jimmy going to Phoenix would suck for our pick this year. He might not make them contenders, but their record would definitely improve. It will have to involve a third team though. No way Riley takes on Beal's contract. Pat Riley is a damn good GM. He not stupid.

Or it could make them worse if they lose more role players in the deal and their big 3 are injured half of the time.

Obviously I’m not rooting for Butler to go to Phoenix just in case they do improve but I also wouldn’t go to Vegas to bet my life savings that it will work out. I would probably bet against it…. But yeah of course you don’t want to make that bet either way if you are the rockets… or the Wizards… That’s obvious.

I think it certainly would blow up sooner or later for Phoenix. Maybe this year, but i doubt it. Phoenix is in absolute cap hell with no draft picks. I'm just hoping nobody bails them out.

Not sure how he gets to Phoenix due to 2nd apron trade restrictions. Unless Suns trade either Durant, Booker or Beal. Phoenix is certainly not trading Durant or Booker. They don't have any real draft capital to grease the wheel on a Beal deal.

I think you're right. Really Phoenix's only way out is to trade both Durant and Booker and wait out Beal. They should look at the Rockets as an example of how quickly you can re-build. The new apron rules make draft picks and young players that much more valuable. Also the next 2 drafts have a lot of talent at the top. There may never be a better time for them to tank. Their owner is a dumbass if he doesn't start right now.

If the Suns acquire Butler, I am not sure how it will impact our swap this season, but it’ll certainly make the 2027 and 2029 picks look mighty fine.

They don't have any bench talent. They only have Durant, Booker, and Beal. That's their problem. They aren't going to get Jimmy, because the only way to get him is to unload one of those 3 and Jimmy only makes since if Booker and Durant stay and nobody is dumb enough to take Beal.

Those teams are all tanking and would want picks to take on Jimmy's contract. Miami is not going to do that. All of them could be used as a third team, if some fool team was actually ok with giving up picks for Jimmy.

No thank you! I would not take him for free at his age. Not to mention the whole "Tomball" is his home town crap.

Old, often injured, diva, massive contract, has no desire to play regular season games. He can turn it on in the playoffs but he’ll mess up your seeding in the process.

    Why would anyone want this?

Suns think he’s a better option than Beal. But who is stupid enough to want Beal as a third team??

The extension Butler wanted from the Heat was for two years. And it would have replaced the player option for next year, essentially just giving him one additional year. The Heat were not going to give him that one additional year at max money (26-27). They are also insistent on not taking back Beal, whose contract is essentially the same as giving Butler the extension he wanted, i.e. it goes through 26-27.

It seems weird that Miami would have such a hardline stance unless they had a specific use for that money. Is there a particular free agent (or anything else) that you think they are targeting in 26-27 where they have to have that money off the books?
