Is it just me or if Butler isn't traded by the deadline, he pulls a Harden and opts in after throwing a hissy fit when no FA deal is there?

Of course he goin opt in. Just like Harden nobody on the market going pay him more than that option year salary.

Harden had to take a chance at getting a ring j a different situation but based I the results I bet he wished he stayed in Houston and took that extension offer. He’d be the highest player right now

He was on the court at times, he is not getting 20+ Freethrows no more.

His FG% is at 45%.....when his career average FG% is close to 51%.

I don't care one way or the other. I just think the celebration of their demise is pre-mature and there is no way they are trading Maxey.

The Suns front office is just digging themselves into a bigger hole. They really should focus on rebuilding and getting some draft picks back because they are not going to be title contenders even if they switched Beal for Jimmy. KD still has some value, trade him while you can. Bradley Beal they are stuck with unless they attach the 2031 draft pick unprotected. Devin Booker, they could easily get a good package for him as well. Their new owner really screwed up trading for Beal and Durant.

LOL. I guess Phoenix is happy as first round fodder for the next 6 years. If I was a Phoenix fan, I would be furious.

We’ve got to hope that Jimmy doesn’t make it to Phoenix this season. I do think he can make them a first round playoff team and that will ding that 25’ swap value in a good draft. But I guess in the long run it bodes well for the value of our Suns’ picks later in the decade ;)

I actually think Jimmy Butler would help the Suns a lot.

I hope he doesn’t make it there with Booker and KD still in the team.

Been telling y'all they're like this. They won't rebuild even if it feels like they have no choice--it's very well-known around the league that they don't care about the draft and don't like rebuilding, they want to be as good as they can right now at any cost. The only way they trade their stars is if their stars demand to be traded. It's why I'm not optimistic about landing Booker, unless we can somehow get them a star in a three-team trade that they perceive as an improvement to their chances of winning now.

I think it actually makes Butler more enticing to teams who might want him only as a short term rental. Butlers team is acting as though Jimmy is LeBron 2010. Nobody really wants to sign him long term anyways but want him this season to help with a playoff push.

Those teams and Miami imo should call his bluff and just make a deal that is mostly a salary player swap that helps the Heat get back a player who can help and isn’t a head case and the other team to get a potential upgrade in talent for a playoff run.

Butler has to know that if he sulks where he goes or refuses to play then it’ll tank his free agency so he’ll likely do the Kawhi/Toronto thing and just have to play the year out and audition for free agency.
