Shams: Jimmy Butler open to being traded to Rockets Mavericks or Warriors

when we actually needed u back in 2018, u wanted know parts of what we had going on, so it’s only right we return the favor

 

Honestly…I wouldn’t hate it if (1) it didn’t cost too much, and (2) we could also land Duncan Robinson as well. Butler would give us a franchise player for a few seasons to help us bridge the gap to our core’s primes, and Robinson would add much needed shooting.

I actually would give up a lot to land Butler and Herro, so long as the deal didn’t require us to send Sengun, Amen, or Eason.

To be fair I can't imagine he looks back on his time growing up in the Houston area all that fondly. He was kicked out by his family at age 13, spent some time being homeless as a teen, and wasn't recruited to any colleges, not even any local ones, despite being a really good player in high school. That's the kind of background that makes you want to get the hell out of a place.

I don't have any grudges against Jimmy, he's actually one of my favorite non-Rockets players... he's just too old and busted at this point to make sense for us.

 

He has in excess of 50m coming due next week. It would be idiotic to give up anything for JB at this point. Another guy that does not fit. I would give up more for Herro.

Jimmy Butler in Dallas would be very interesting - but not sure what Dallas has to really offer unless it is a salary type dump.

I 100% would give up more for Herro. I’d give up a lot for Herro, and I’d give up a lot for Butler and Herro. Butler alone? Not much.
