Likely path. I hope this doesn’t meddle with Tari’s extension talk (meaning trading him for a PG becomes more likely)

It’s funny how half the board didn’t even want FVV re-signed and now it’s the most devastating injury ever. We’ll be fine. Stone will make a trade. With KD’s age, you can’t afford to just wait. I imagine by the deadline, they probably go after Jrue Holiday.

Ironically the Rockets could become a much better shooting team with Reed getting more minutes. Fred sucked from beyond the arc last year. Even Holiday was pretty solid at around 40% from 3.

Organization on offense and floor spacing (unless they start both Sheppard and Thompson) are where the Rockets are going to take the biggest hits. They could start Amen, Finney-Smith, Eason (or Jabari Smith Jr.), Durant and Sengun and still be elite defensively. But that lineup now requires either Amen or Sengun to be comfortable with shooting threes to keep defenses honest, whether they make them or not.

    We are FINE.

The Rockets will be able to RUN more on offense - and by starting Amen will be a better defending and rebounding team.

They will be different, but they will be better this year - in the end, I feel more sorry for FVV, this was probably his last chance to start - at 5'11" and 32 years old, he is probably on his last significant contract, and my guess is will need to exercise his player option next year as he will still be recovering.

The Rockets will be fine with what they have and can always get a 4th string PG in the GLeague ...if needed.

    1. Amen
    2. Reed
    3. Holiday

    We will be fine.

Hopefully this doesn’t mean Westbrick is returning.

Even if you do not like Fred he was a good player, losing him hurts the depth.

Unless Reed has a big breakout year if we do make the playoffs we will miss Fred. I mean the guy was a big reason we were even competitive with the Warriors in that series.

    WHAT THE **** MAN..

It's the Texans curse, they're spreading to the Astros and Rockets.

Relax everyone. I've been hammering the under in Vegas for regular season wins since the Durant trade. I lose a LOT of bets. They will be fine!

Having said that. I'll be right back...

Yep. Team was fast tracked to a life without FVV and here we are. Time to see how a #3 overall PG plays in his second year.

I don’t think any of those guys are ready.

Amen is a wing who can play make

Reed will essentially be a second year rookie

Holiday is a career bench player.

I agree 100%. I’m a Fred supporter. I just think his impact is overstated because we had no other PG close to his level on this team. I do think we’ll miss him but there are replacement guys available out there. Stone just needs to find who. If you can get Derrick White, you do it.

Which is why KD will likely be handling the ball quite a bit this season.

We're not gonna be fine.. we looked awful last year whenever Fred was out, even when he shot terrible.

We needed his playmaking and shooting to win games and now you're telling me he's out for the entire year when we're already weak at guard depth?

Reed is not ready but if we can't get a replacement before the season starts, maybe he needs to be thrown into the fire and let him make the mistakes early on.

To start, Sengun will likely be the primary facilitator, with Durant next and Amen and Reed providing what they can. Durant is a willing passer if he gets double teamed or drives to the basket and gets surrounded.

We looked terrible because we didn’t really have a veteran glue guy outside of FVV. Durant fills that void.

KD is a decent playmaker but not great. It also takes away from his strength as a point of attack player and will burn him out faster.
