I think for people that didn't think we haad a legit title chance this season then none of this should even matter anyways. As far as the leadership thing, we dont know who will step up and to a degree I dont think it matters as much as who steps up with actual production. Leadership is important but not nearly as important as talent.

Look at the Thunder. They dont really have an outward singular leader. Shai isnt that kind of demonstrative guy. But they have a few guys who 'rally the troops'.. its more of a collective thing. Also, Ime is still here and Fred will be on the sidelines as well. Whatever leadership he brought is the least of my worries.

 

Is their any chance Fred can come back by the end of the season or playoffs...?

 

You guys are seriously underrating Amen’s offensive capability. Ime was going to play FVV off the ball a LOT this year. Reed can bring the ball up and give it to any of Sengun, Durant, or Amen. This mostly affects depth if Reed is decent. If Reed sucks they may have some issues, but they just have to hang in there until the deadline if that’s the case. They will miss FVV’s defense the most.

This is a 50-point IQ loss right off the top. Some of our guys can fill in some of the physical skills, but not the possession management. Never mind the ACL, we just effectively had a stroke.

 

Time to start taking minicamps in Galveston again. He must have been hungover playing in the Bahamas.

Seems unlikely. The recovery ranges anywhere from 6-12 months. The playoffs begin in less than 7 months. So even in the best case scenario, he'd return right before the Rockets enter the postseason.

Sucks for FVV but the meltdown is a bit over the top. Half of the board didn’t even want FVV to be here anymore after the season ended. FVV is still the same slow, small 30% volume shooting combo guard. His experience will be missed but you have to given Amen and Reed the responsibility at some stage.

 

Stone has to be searching for some kind of a deal to get a point, while chewing his fingernails down to a nub.
The coaching staff? Frantically working on a work around. This could still be our year, but it just got a LOT harder.

 

FVV missed 22 games last season, about 27%. With him getting older, the Rockets knew the risk. In a way, they had all their eggs on Reed and Thompson.

 

Not with adding KD and DFS etc...the team will be different but could be better....just never know.

They just got a PG #3 overall in the draft and FVV was a net negative fairly often. It's not that big a deal. Even better, Ime can't lean too heavily on FVV to the detriment of the team anymore.

 

Holiday is not a point guard and his decision making is poor. He’s also turnover prone.
