Horrible news. He's missing his first shot at the playoffs, and could be losing hundreds of millions. I don't recall this injury being as common as it is now (at least amongst marquee players), and I wonder why that is the case.
Torn Achilles per espn http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/22228947/demarcus-cousins-new-orleans-pelicans-achilles-injury
Who’s going to give him a contract and would contenders pay big and take a risk he’s playoff ready next year?
I hated this guy all game long, and then hated when this happened to him on a random steal/rebound attempt. Sports injuries suck.
Maybe not... his game doesn’t really rely on athleticism as much as skill but it will be tough since that’s a lot of weight on a bad Achilles. Either way hope he is doing okay mentally and can return to form.
Which looks like any other motion another player would do @Rox11 non contact injuries are unfortunate and can still happen going through normal routines. Are you trying to say don't land on your heel and youlll be fine
I always thought refs targeted boogie after his first few years in the league... sure there were some times he got out of hand but it’s tough for big guys because they take a beating and hardly get fouls called and that can be frustrating. I felt the same way about Dwight Howard when he played for us... there were so many times when he would get hacked all game long and then he would get frustrated when he barely touches someone on the other end and it gets called everytime.
It really did not look bad at all on the replay but the way he reacted and left the court it was obvious. Sucks for DMC man. I have been a huge fan of him and we also share the same birthday on the exact same day, year ect
Sux to see someone get hurt. I never cared for his attitude and initially thought it was a sprain B4 I saw the replay After replay- it was obviously not a sprain
It's hard to believe his season is over after such a routine looking play. Not my favorite player at all but I'm sad this happened to him.
