I would suggest you look at the Wizards W-L record.

They are desperate but we aren't much better off.

There are multiple Woj Stein and Shams reports making it known to everyone that the market for Westbrook is completely dead.

If they attached so many assets they could get someone much better than Westbrook.

Who is available? John Wall has an incredibly expensive contract and it won't be easy to match by any team. Crazy enough, Russ/Wall trade makes a ton of sense if the Rockets get additional assets. A straight up trade would be idiotic.

    For John Wall? Nah.

The way most people talk about Russ' contract is what Wall's contract actually is.

John Wall has never been as good as Russ even when at his peak. I know it's fun to hate on Russ but Wall can't shoot either.

    so

    1) worse player
    2) similar contract
    3) way more injured

sure. But not a top 10 pick and a good prospect who made the all rookie team (or did he I don't even know lol? anyway he was in the cusp).

More like a good roleplayer or multiple second rounders. If lucky a heavily protected first rounder.

yup at least with wall you're getting a better iq player and he has actually worked himself to be a decent shooter. Rather than a complete nonfactor from the perimeter like westbrick

anyone who thinks wall still can't shoot like when he was a rookie is doing nothing but posting a lazy assumption. They obviously haven't followed him either. Hes been much improved for years and does not get guarded like the westbrick or rubio when teams just dare them to shoot

I would rather have one game with John Wall than 12 with Russell Westbrook. I like Russ at times but sorry...not sorry..

All that matters is the assets we will get in the deal. It has nothing to do with being competitive next year. But I am hesitant with all the time still left on Wall's deal.

Pick swap #9 for #16 and Rui is a fair addition to the trade.

I think that's what Stone will get.

    DC would do this because:

    Westbrook is tradable.

    John Wall is NOT.

The Rockets would do this to give Harden a far less hectic PG. A different look, and we would likely be bringing in Demarcus Cousins who has wanted to play with Wall forever.

Also, DC would throw in assets to get it done. We like assets.

Really damaged goods...with a massive contract. Not taking on another 40/yr, no matter what they add to it.

Wall, Cousins playing with Harden and Eric Gordon results in a 7th seed at best and a quick exit in the playoffs. Is that really what we should be shooting for?

This is the kind of opinion I like to hear.

Rui and a pick swap is enough to make the risk worth it.

Westbrook actually asked to be traded and noone wants him even for free, so that immediately lowers his trade value.

Still we should take back an asset but not as much as you are posting about.
A heavily protected 1st would be the best we can hope for.
    IMO.
