I'm sure he would. Wasn't Rivers the #1 HS player before he went to Duke? Rivers is a good fit in the Rockets system.

A lot has changed since last month. Butler went to Miami so Gordon is staying at least for now. Rivers is signed on the cheap to be the 3rd string PG/SG. Westbrook in, Paul out.

IMO, Ponds will develop nicely in the G-League. Plus he has access to film of Harden to study. Ponds can be the Vipers Mini-Lite Harden. I'm intrigued on his development.

More importantly Austin is likely Eric Gordon's replacement. IMO Houston likes EG, but at this point is not too confident they can keep him beyond this season. As some have said I think he gets traded, again only because of his longterm status and he has a lot of value in the NBA.

 

Assuming rivers productivity scales with an increased in minutes, I think you’re right.

Was on Westbrook Instagram and saw some verified dude say he’s a better model than him. Saw someone reply saying don’t get dunked on in practice. So I was interested who this dude was.

Turns out it was ponds when I went to his Instagram. Saw the video of perk calling him the best pg that was at the combine. Then I saw a familiar scene in one of his posts:



Maybe I missed it but I had no idea he was out there in those videos that were being posted all summer long. I know he didn’t do much in summer league. Not expecting much from him in pre season....but he’s a rocket for now and the season is about to start so all these guys deserve a little love. He looks pretty nice in the videos tho.

 

Yeah, it's been posted before and when I heard Perk say that he was possibly the steal of the draft (I think that's what he said -- I don't recall, tbh), I knew we were cursed.

video looks good...but lets face it, do we really need a ball dominant guard who's a minus on the defensive end? looks like he's good with the ball,but with harden and westbrook when will he ever be able to have it? like 4 years from now? he looks like trade bait to me.

 

I think his name will make him good at basketball. In the future people are going to be talking about how they got Shamoried!

 

I really want him to have some electrifying dunks so I can hear Bull say, "SHAM WOW!"
