About a month ago, I made an early morning trek to a small dance hall outside of Sealy, TX. I was there to shoot an old-fashioned, real pit in the ground, BBQ. Robb Walsh, former Houston Press food critic and acclaimed author, was my contact. I was going to shoot for him while he worked on an article for the Houston Press as well as a new book he's working on about Texas BBQ. I shot as the sun was rising and throughout the day. The article has all the details about the old school process of making BBQ in a pit in a ground and how it's slowly dying out. It was a good day for taking photos.

I ended up with a shot on the cover and a handful of images in the actual article. If you get a chance, pick one up, read the article and check out my work.

If you can't find a copy, you can read the Flipbook version. The Flipbook is basically the paper itself, except in digital form. There's no software to install.

I also shared a slideshow with Robb Walsh that you can find online at the Houston Press website. Check those out too!

    Nice work dude!

Email pending, I'm doing a bbq/fundraiser at Red McCombs' place in September, would you like to come shoot it? Room/board/beer/bbq included.

    Semi-professionally since about 2008. Since I don't make a living doing this and while I don't make very much, I'd like say that I am a semi-professional.
