away game is always difficult. Travelling, all that, just happy we pull this one out. We caught Indy shooting well tonight and still managed to win. Tonight this team was Landry's.
Like others said, if we can get Miller for scraps, then why offer them an actual asset in Battier? I'm all for looking into getting Miller or Navarro, but let's try it the painless way first. Miller would be taking Bonzi's minutes, so I'd be willing part with him.
I am sure the rest of the West has taken noticed at what the Lakers did today. Spurs pick up DS, so I am sure the Rockets and the rest of West contenders will not stand pat. I hope Morey does get someone that can contribute and get the team far into the playoffs.
Still really love the idea of Miller coming to Houston, but I think the offer Mem is thinking about is Miller to GS for POB, Mickael Pietrus, and something else filler or draft picks.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...teams=10~29~10~10~4~10~4~29~4~29~29&te=&cash= We would get rid of mac's fatty contract and pick up solid role players such as miller and nocioni.
The more I think about it, the more Mike Miller may be most gettable player that would fit here. If Memphis is really having a firesale, what other trades could they get for Miller that would give them, talent, picks, and cap relief? We could offer James, Snyder, Head, and our #1. This would knock another couple mill off their cap for next year plus give them another pick for a young player. I suppose the Clippers could offer Maggette for him. Don't know why the Clippers would do that though. The Clips could then offer Tim Thomas and a couple expirings, no first round pick though. We could then counter with Luther plus expirings of Francis, Bonzi, and Snyder for Miller to give Memphis a talent and total cap relief. This would put them close to being able to get almost 2 max contracts either that year or be prime players in 2009 when all the big free agents hit the market.
they would probably demand either scola or landry along with probably battier/head. they dont need aaron brooks. i was surprised they wanted Crittenton because they r already set at point guard for a long time with Conley and Lowry.
come on, look at the great trade of lakers , if we don't move our ass fast~we will never get the champion
Getting either Mike Miller or Navarro without giving up core pieces or our rookies would be an awesome awesome move. Essentially, Morey should find a way to trade Bonzi, Snyder, Novak and James for these guys. If he can do that, he should really be GM of the year. (indulge me in my fantasies abit please )
I dont see anyway they take James from us. He is overpaid, has three years left on his deal, and they have too many PGs already. You offer of Luther, Francis, Bonzi and Snyder is more realistic, but I dont even think we need to add Luther. Francis, Bonzi and Snyder work money wise and we could add a 09 first rounder instead of Luther. I think that would make Memphis happy, plus Luther has shown he can contribute to this team. Memphis drops Bonzi, Snyder and I doubt Francis takes his option for next year to play in Memphis. That is big cap relief for them and with the 09 draft pick they have two first rounders in 08, 09, and 2010. Rockets get Miller, keep the 08 pick this year, and hopefully are good enough that the 09 pick isnt very high.
There is some real truth to that... Miller = Allen They both shoot well but Miller is younger, taller and can pass and rebound as well. T-Mac = Pierce When T-Mac is healthy, these are similar caliber players across the board. Yao = KG. Very different players but both are elite big men. So, in many ways Miller, T-Mac and Yao would be a taller, younger version of Allen, Pierce and KG.
Um, I think I'd still take Ray over Miller, but it's close. And KG vs. Yao is a toughie. But we got a much better rotation if we get Miller for expirings.
Sanyajlucknow's trade proposals are always clever and have come true in the past...fingers crossed! I would LOVE to have Mike Miller on the Rockets...he would be just what the doctor ordered... But I wouldn't give up Battier for him. I'd go as far as giving up Luther, Bonzi, Snyder, Francis, and a No. 1 pick...and cash. They could then cut Francis and when the waiting period is over, we could sign him back on as our new mascot for the minimum .
