i will be upset if we dont get an upgrade in pg. morey has to know this a MAJOR weakness in our game.

    Dream acquisitions:
    Baron Davis + Camby
    or
    Sessions + Richard Jefferson

I'll be a little disappointed. They shouldn't trade for the sake of trading, but it seems to me like they have at least a couple of trade chips they can role the dice with and clearly this team needs to take a chance - even if it's just trying to find someone willing to take Head and his 24% career playoff shooting percentage off our hands. I mostly like the players Morey has brought in and I like our chances if he has the opportunity to make a deal.

...that being said, I bet our biggest trade chip(Artest) is really going to depend on the Tmac knee saga. If it turns out McGrady is going to miss a big part of the rest of the season they should think again about keeping Artest if they can't get a scorer on the level of Carter in return.

Houston is really in a pickle right now. One one hand we need Artest, but if he can take over and push the Rockets in Tmac's absence that most certainly means we lose him at the end of the season when he tries to get a bigger contract elsewhere as Houston won't have the money to sign him unless they find someone willing to take Tmac in the summer. That means we should try and get value for Artest(and for that matter Head's expiring contract) now or risk playing the free agency game this summer which doesn't seem to appealing for a team in win now mode.

I won't be disappointed assuming we can re-sign Artest for a multi year deal and either T-Mac gets his knee back to 100% or we trade him or lose his salary after 2010.
It's the uncertainty that's holding the team back in terms of the roster and what players are available on any given night and this has held back coach as well. Look what happened once the team sucked it up and won 22 straight last year.....

We need to get rid of Tmac...i am sick of this fool for being injured every damm year.

We need to keep Artest unless the deal is really good. I keep Artest over Tmac any day just because Artest play with heart and desire and give it 110% every time he's on the court. What Artest said about TSlack is true...he's a lazy azz bum and he need to be traded.

If Artest stays healthy, takes over and carries the Rocks while McGrady sits and the Rockets get past the first round of the playoffs which is a strong possibility if everyone else but T-Mac is healthy then wouldn't the Rockets be able to sign Artest to the largest contract over other teams and Artest has been on record as saying he'd play for free when with Sacramento if it meant the team would keep coach Adelman. Remember it was Adelman who had a large part in Artest wanting to be here and if Artest did prove to mgt that the team played better without McGrady then don't you think mgt. would sign Artest to a very handsome contract that would be to his liking and Artest would have the sense of community and good relationship with coach and teammates that would make him want to stay in Houston?

Artest has said that it's not about the money and he wants to be a part of something special (a freakish big man and the coach he loves and a good group of teammates that play hard and are boyz) which translates into saying that if paid fair market value with the other factors he likes about Houston, he'll stay. If Artest, Yao, Scola and the bench with Landry and the boyz take Houston even past the first round withOUT McGrady then wouldn't Artest wanna stay to build on this knowing that this is YAO's team and that McGrady will most likely wanna join the mix even in a year? I think Artest is more loyal to the Rockets than the Rockets are to Artest IMO from everything I've read and is more human than the Rocket's mgt. in terms of mgt. being strictly business.

I'm embarrassed that Artest is even being rumoured to be shopped knowing how much he loves this team, this coach, this board and the city of Houston. He's got way too much heart to even consider trading and that doesn't even take into consideration his multidimensional game (scoring, 3 pointers, driving, defense, passion, determination and a very dominant will, hustle, and a good basketball IQ). It shows a sense of panic and a lack of trust of the character that Artest has shown as well as loyalty to even think about trading him IMO. It's insulting....the man is reasonable from all I've read and seen....

Oh Noes, please don't tell me you are a Yao only fan.

McGrady sucks this year, and either Artest or him needs to go, but let's not try to alter history now shall we? Yao has been absent the past 3 years, and we've been relying on McGrady all the way. Although McGrady is getting more heat than Yao, it doesn't mean Yao has missed less games. I hope you've been watching the past few years during our struggles and who the "heartless person" is that keeps us on the line. No I'm not an apologist, and this year he showed absolutely no determination at all, but I'm not one of those people who pile on crap and B.S and other nonsense because it's the "right time" to do so.

Answer to the OP, yes and no. I'll laugh so hard at the management (and possibly the fans as well) if we pull off a jason kidd because we've been so desperate. Though if we do bring something positive, and not a horrible gamble, then I'll sure be cheering for it.

    Rockets all the way!

I'm fine with either way if its the best combo of players we can put together. I don't want to see a trade just for money's sake.

nope won't be disappointed , i don't think all the rumor trade prospect is good for the rocket in the long run. Our team is the problem right now, trading for a superstar won't change quickly make your team better.

I will be disappointed if Head is not traded though. Artest is good there's no need to trade now, trade him in the summer.

at this point morey has all the evidence he needs that the status quo is not going to work.
