Yes, but what was the "Jewish terror"? "Stealing" money? Causing the horrendous sanctions that Germany got after WWI?

I don't remember anything about jews going and murdering hundreds of Nazis to merit being put in a ghetto(which would be a better comparison to being surrounded by a wall, rather than a concentration camp).

My point being, there isn't a logical comparison of the Palestinians today to the jews during the holocaust.

Goal of Nazi Germany: European (and through the axis powers, world) domination
    Goal of Israel: Survival

    Non sequitor.

You are assuming that one disproves the other. I'm not necessarily agreeing with you that the threat factor of each 'restricted' people was dissimilar, but even if you accept that, that doesn't logically disprove the comparison.

And, as for the first issue, as Hitler et al claimed the nazis were fighting for the very survival of their race, which was in the losing stages of a blood war.

Additioanlly, there were examples of what we would call 'terrorism' which the Nazis used as an excuse to label, castigate, and restrict an entire race. That, in and of itself, is a parallel.

But more to the point, the parallel is in the physical restriction of a people based on race, and race alone. You don't have to be bald to compare with Shaq.

These people aren't being restrained because of their race, its because there is a large number of them that want to kill Israelis. The reason why they are violent is because they want jews off "their" land. If you disagree with me on this, check out the Hamas charter

    http://www.netaxs.com/~iris/plochart.htm

Article 15: The liberation of Palestine, from an Arab viewpoint, is a national (qawmi) duty and it attempts to repel the Zionist and imperialist aggression against the Arab homeland, and aims at the elimination of Zionism in Palestine. Absolute responsibility for this falls upon the Arab nation - peoples and governments - with the Arab people of Palestine in the vanguard. Accordingly, the Arab nation must mobilize all its military, human, moral, and spiritual capabilities to participate actively with the Palestinian people in the liberation of Palestine. It must, particularly in the phase of the armed Palestinian revolution, offer and furnish the Palestinian people with all possible help, and material and human support, and make available to them the means and opportunities that will enable them to continue to carry out their leading role in the armed revolution, until they liberate their homeland.

Wait a second.. this hasnt happened before? People trying to wipe jews out of an entire region? This PLO charter sounds more like something straight out of Nazi Germany.

But if that were the case you restrain only those that would carry out the bombings. Currently only 35% support the bombings, and wall that keeps out everybody is keeping people out based only on nationality. The wall does not allow people who are Palestinian and peaceful to enter, it keeps out all of them, and grabs additional land in the process.

I should add that this isn't an isolated incident. There are different water rights for Israelis and Palestinians. There are different roads which can be used etc. There are different prices for water, different home ownership restrictions for property. Most of those things, if not all of them, is solely based on nationality, and wouldn't increase terrorist bombings if they were equaled out at all. They might actually decrease it. So given the present and history of Israeli policy nobody should be expected to believe that this wall somehow only gets in the way of violent, ill-intentioned Palestinians.

Yeah you are forgetting very important parts of the Palestinian argument. Like I said before look at what was once Palestine 50 years ago. Based on that you too would be pissed about Israel. Now like the other guy said, Hamas is the group that should be directly targeted not the whole Palestinian population. That along would create resentment by the Palestinians and thus create even more hatred towards the Israelis. Personally the Israelis are cheating by building the wall because they are in essence creating their OWN border line that is too their interest. Dont for one second think the wall is only created to keep the Suicide bombers out, it is digging deep into internationally know Palestinian territory. You speak of Palestinians and Suicide bombing's like they go hand and hand. It is Hamas and the extremist that are doing the bombings for their cause (which is not right). However your punishing/TERRORIZING Millions of people for what that one group is doing. Another point I would like to bring up is we as Americans are starting to use the word Terrorist in the context on what we believe to be so. Are army's not terrorist just because they are a structured force. The Israeli army is starting to seem just as terroristic as Hamas. Please dont take this as a pro Palestinian stance, I am just being fair as observing both sides of whats going on. If only our administration would do the same...

For those of you who don't support a building of a wall to keep the populations separate, what do you suggest?

    Keep in mind that:

    (1) The Palestinian leadership has not made any real effort to stop suicide bombing. In fact, it has broadcast instructions on how to build a bomb belt and execute an attack on Palestinian TV.

    (2) There is no longer any standard profile of a "terrorist bomber" - they come in all ages, backgrounds, and are both male and female.

    (3) Every negotiation Arafat has participated in has been accompanied by his simultaneous funding and support of terrorist attacks to derail those processes.

    (4) Arafat sees himself as a revolutionary, not a country's leader. He has shown limited interest in creating a real peace. Even the idea of him being a world hero for bringing peace to the region has not had any appeal to him.

    (5) Letting suicide bombers run amok at will blowing people up is not an acceptable solution.

It seems like the wall is much closer to stage 1: seperating the peoples, than stage 3: genocide. adeel equated the wall with stage three, and I have to agree with F2001 that to equate buikding a wall with Death Camps is rediculous and offensive. Do you really think the Nazis would be looked on in such a negative light if they had stopped at building a wall and had not progressed to a war against most of Europe and the systematic extermination of an entire race?

Good post.. I think we both agree that the Palestinian people are a victim of their own society. Their leader is corrupt and they are surrounded by violent organizations.

Don't get me wrong, Israel isn't known for making the best decisions when it comes to standing up to their own extremists. I am 100% against the settlements and they need to pack up and go.

I'm truly and honestly sorry if you were offended by what I said earlier, but look at it this way. I was offended by what you said about keeping any race behind a wall. And I'm Sure there are millions of Palestinians that arent involved in bombings and terrorism who also feel like they are cattle that is put in behind a large wall...

And in no way did I say what the Nazi's did is justified at all, I get sick reading about the Holocoust, and any other Genocide. Its pathetic what the Germans did, and its also wrong to generalize any other group and put them in behind a wall.

    Apology accepted man :)

I just hope that all this eventually gets fixed. I think it's wrong to put people behind a wall 99% of the time. Doing it to save lives on both sides is that 1%.

To stay on topic, I wonder what most Palestinian kids would say about this video.
