Anyone still watching this (hopefully you guys didn't give up)? The show is getting REALLY REALLY good now. I would rate the last episode as better than most BSG episodes. I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen to Rush now... that was awesome.
It finally has gotten good ( in a soap opera kind of way ).. You know whats going to happen to Rush.. A. He fixes the damn ship and gets to a nearby stragate and travels to a world that has the making of planet the Destiny (Ship) would stop at. The ship might have some logs on planets near by that would describe the makeup of particular planets. B. Or somehow the ship has ftl capabilities with super long a$# range sensors to find Destiny. No matter Rush isn't going to die and will re-board the ship with more melodramatic problems among the crew. Also the Kid knows he left Rush on the planet..
Started back up last night. [didn't seem like a lot of Advertisement] It is still coming off very Mediocre. Spoiler I am kind of pissed they brought Rush back so soon. I mean left on the planet yesterday and back the next . .. . that is so fricking WACK! Rocket River
I think this show has potential. But it's a bit clumsy and some of the main characters are lackluster.
Spoiler That surprised me as well. I was hoping they could actually build some tension with his return.
My roommates a big Science Fiction guy, and he says this is one of the best shows they have. I agree with him, because it's the only thing I watch on SyFy. It's a little slow at points, it needs more action.
Yeah, this show doesn't seem to have a direction. I don't like the BSG/Dawson's Creek music montages either. Writers are playing their cards too closely to their vests.
I'm hooked, but the show can be better. I think they will cut some of the fluff characters, add some better ones and come back much stronger in season 2.
That is not saying much what else they have . . .Sactuary, Warehouse 13, Eureka? Too much is resolved too quickly and easily Rush is lost on a planet this episode. . . found the next The Holy Trinity of main character are lost on planet while they leave the galaxy. . .they get sabotaged. . and they just TADA!! walk through the gate I am looking like. . .the whole build up about maybe leaving them was useless and contrite Rocket River
Yup, I don't like that either. It's like Voyager, but without the camp. Maybe they'll pull in an alien seductress if ratings tank and teach her the ways of man.
Apart from some characters who make you want to start smashing your tv screen everytime they appear, I really like this show. I guess it's not for everyone but to me it's a major upgrade from the later seasons of SG-1.
SG:U is getting a bit repetitive. It's continually about what calamity will befall the ship next. Whatever happened to the interesting exploration of other worlds? I could use some of that. And more about alien races other than introducing some random race and not diving any deeper into it other than that they are bad and that they want the ship. And when the hell are they going to learn to control Destiny?
It got off to a rough start, but the series is starting to pick up. Its a decent show, that hopefully will get better. You just have to change your expectations as Universe seems more character driven, with all the exploration taking a backseat to the series.
I rather have less of that if the alternative is the SG-1 style planet of the week tour of Canadian countryside with perfect English speaking "aliens" with stupid costumes and bad makeup.
I think it has really gotten slow lately. I havn't watched the last 3 episodes or so. I'll catch up at some point, but its just not very interesting right now
This show is awful, granted its a whole lot better than what it used to be. I wouldn't bother critiquing it other than it has the Stargate name. Im behind 4 or 5 weeks. Not sure if i'll bother catching up.
Did anybody watch the newest episode? Plenty of Jack O'Neill and Daniel Jackson as well. What's next, Rodney McKay and Sheppard paying a visit? (Richard Dean Anderson has aged rapidly since about SG-1 season 7, btw)
