As rrj pointed out, I think the Spurs would want Eddie Griffin. Parker is already a very effective PG at the age of 20 and will only continue to improve with time. The Spurs are not going to take Mobley or Cato for Parker imo. Tony Parker at the age of 20 is already averaging 16 PPG 5 APG on a very good FG%. Parker already has a 2.2 Ast to TO ratio (something Francis or Mobley still are nowhere near despite their 4-5 yrs experience). Its amazing how dramatically Parker has improved from year 1 to year 2, and I would expect him to continue improving. Its funny how the Spurs dont have to have to make these little excuses of youth concerns with their 20 yr old running the point. Tony Parker shows more basketball savvy as a 20 yr old than both Steve and Cuttino combined.

Tony Parker would be my #1 target this summer assuming players like Kidd are a pipedream; I would basically the give the Spurs anyone they want outside of Steve and Yao. Parker is looking like a young version of a Mike Bibby or Steve Nash.

Has Kidd expressed interest in going to SA? Also, I think like with Webber & Sac, NJ can offer more money than anyone else. A lot may also depend on the Spurs. If they draw the Lakers and get knocked out in the first round they might have a lot less momentum going after FAs.

IMO Kidd and TD doesn't guarantee any rings--though it would make them have a much greater chance. You still have the Lakers and some other formidable WC teams--and the rest of the Spurs are not great jumpshooters. Personally, I think GP makes a better fit the Spurs in the immediate term because historically he has been a much more consistent shooter than Kidd. But if I am the Spurs I would go for the younger Kidd while I can and try to lock him away for 7 years.

There is another factor involved. Spurs may be thinking about KG too. If they can pair KG with TD, that is a scary combination. If they decide to go after KG, their cap room may not be enough as for now. Then Rox gets a shot at Kidd or Parker or Ginobli.

How could Rox reach the cap and still got this bunch of players?

the rockets doesn't want to get kidd. he's a horrible shooter and his uptempo game is not suited for yao and the rockets. i like derek anderson if the rox is going to trade mobley for anybody. if not anderson, what about ron artest??

Actually, I'll go you one crazier.

Steve Francis to the Wizards, a team that will have between 5 and 7 million in cap space, even if (when) Stackhouse doesn't opt out. That cap space will help the Rox because of BYC implications.

In return: Larry Hughes (who plays some defense) and the Wizards' #1 pick, which should be around the 10th or 11th pick. Draft a halfway decent point guard.

This would also involve the also-not-going-to-happen Cat + EG (+ Collier for matching salary purposes?) for a signed and traded Elton Brand.

Oh, wait. Are we talking possible scenarios? Not dreamcasts?

We do need to solidify the 4 spot and get another playmaker, however we do it. Mo-T we can't move, but he can be played at the 4 and the 5, depending on matchups.

The Spurs have never once mentioned KG.

This is laughable. They don't want the best PG in the game today? Besides which, Yao runs the court as well as any true center. Kidd would transform this team in amazing ways.

Derek Anderson is another me first player. Artest brings solid all around game, but why would Indiana want to part with him.

Maybe that's because they don't feel they could find 10 other players with $4.0m they'd have left over after they signed him. Or did you not know thet KG makes $25m? KG + Duncan ~= $39m.

Cat for Parker? Anyday, then I would trade Fancis for Dirk Nowitzki and sign Richard Hamilton this off season.

    Next season's roster

    PG-Parker
    SG-Hamilton
    SF-Nowitzki
    PF-Griffin
    C-Yao

Much better team. Never would happen, but I wish it could.

Stop thinking about these trades. It's never going to happen.

There's no way Spur would trade Parker, maybe not even trade Parker for kidd.

I don't see NJ wants to trade Kidd unless they have no choice

So Rockets trade Francis and Mobley for Parker and Ginoboli?

This also means that the Spurs traded Parker and Ginoboli for Jason Kidd and Cuttino.

With or without caproom, this trade would never go down.
