I can't seem to get any of the circles to show up on the maps. But there is a link for revealing the offenders that can't be mapped. i wonder why they can't be mapped. it gives their addresses and photos, etc. EDIT: The 4th and 5th zoom suddenly revealedthe dots. I got it to work. Funny how no other zooms work.
Yup - that's why my original post only showed the inner loop: I tried to zoom out and get the whole city, but the map didn't show the circles. -- droxford
I had sent an email to the company that manages my apartment complex asking why they required criminal background checks if they let sex offenders move in. They sent me a letter back that I received today. It noted that the person listed on the sex offender registration never applied to live here and that they were going to talk to the leaseholder about it and make sure the guy is gone. (And it turned out, I had mistakenly read an address, so there was actually only one listed in my complex, rather than two like I thought before).
Seeing this post tempted me to see how my neighborhood is in NYC. The website for sex offenders in New York State also posts pictures of the offenders. I don't think the Texas site showed pictures.
They had pictures of some of them at least (after clikcing on the name). I saw the picture of the guy from my apartment complex. I can't believe how many of these child sex offenders live across from schools. Looking at the neighborhood my kids live in in Amarillo, I see a couple of guys who live across the street from the neighborhood elementary school. Both were convicted of sexual assault of a minor.
