Just don't see Lin starting. McHale is the captain of the ship. he will decide the starting 5. Lin is the least favored player by McHale. and I see Beverley Starting. I therefore am predicting a change before the season starts. Perhaps Lin is even traded if enough pressure mounts on the Rockets to trade Lin. Either way, Lin will be targeted by fans in every NBA city by typical suspicious trolls like here on clutch city. Watch you me on this prediction, it's going to happen. and I'm going to rub this prediction in all of your faces, and can even theorize why it happened. Last year observations will lead me to believe to a predictable coaching pattern of eventual demotion of Lin. That is how the cookie will crumble. I do hope the Rockets do awesome though. Alright that was kinda harsh, I apologize. but I feel like you're just pulling stuff out of your butt. McHale isn't going to bench a player we're actively trying to trade unless he plays horrid.
You know, I think it might happen - but not because he is not a favored player. Lin could be our Ginobili. In our first unit we don't need his playmaking ability since the offense will run through Harden and Howard. Beverly with his defense and his ability to hit open shots would be enough. Lin could run the second team and provide playmaking ability that Beverly does not have - he should still average close to 30 minutes and probably finish most games. I actually think, this would be the most logical solution and the best use of Lin.

Lin WILL start, he is not being traded its not even a debate anymore. Harden and Dwight stated they want to play with both. You dont need to keep dreaming of seeing Lin as a 6 man thats not going to happen because hes the starter and well deserved. However, Lin has much to work on, especially against Elite defenders. He really does much better with the ball vs off the ball i mean remember he pulled that 30/10 without Harden and next game did like a 6/5 with Harden so honestly I wouldnt mind if Lin became a 6 man because starting next to Harden means lots of 6/5 days with low fga ad lots of spot up shooting.
