For this team to be a title contender in the next few years, we need to manage Mobley's shots down to a maximum of 12-15 per game. With low post players (Taylor, Griffin, Ming) shooting a much higher percentage, we are better served by those players providing the offense. Mobley is a classic example of an average player putting up above-average numbers on a bad team. When we become a good team, this issue will correct itself. I think Rudy's new offense will take points away from the Cat as the ISO goes the way of the dodo bird.
No, he's not. For this scenario to be applicable, and for Mobley to be an "average" player, he would have to shoot more times than other guards to get his points. His points per shot average is right in line with Michael Finley, Allan Houston, Ray Allen, Wally Szczberiak, and other two guards in his class. If Cat's points per game are skewed, then so are Finley's, Houston's, and others who take roughly the same number of shots (in proportion to points). Are you people nuts? Mobley is not **** to Francis. Mobley plays no d and all he does is jack up shots. I like the cat but he will never be an allstar. Francis on the other hand will be the best pg in the game in about 3 years. If you compare Mobley's defense to Steve's, Mobley starts to look like Ben Wallace... Also, Steve takes about the same shots per game as Cuttino, and actually averages less points, so who's the one jacking up shots?
Cat was a decent defender his 1st year in the pros when he concentrated on playing D. He needs to get back to that level.
