Ya lets set it straight, how many winning seasons did BOSH lead the Raptors in the east.....oh let me guess its his Roster his roster was good enough to win at least 45 games in the EAST, he it did once with a Rookie Bargnani, 2nd year Jose Caulderon, 2nd year TJ Ford......Since than his roster has been better......

1 winning season out of 7

Bosh averages 4 more games than Yao in the last 7 seasons. So NO to another injury prone player....we already have Yao and KM.

Back than we only worried about T-mac and Yao and now we want to worry about another player who can't stay healthy.......

Give me Danny Granger, AI2, Gerald Wallace....first

A few thoughts... one is that team performance generally isn't reflective of a player's skill. The right coaching and environment can do a lot for an athlete.

As far as the players you'd take 'first', under what circumstances do you think would Danny Granger be available to the Rockets? Don't get me wrong, I'd love him - and his career high is against the Jazz.

As far as AI2... with Martin at SG and a logjam at SF with no answer to the necessity for height, AI2 should not be on a Rockets priority list.

As far as Wallace, you said you don't want to worry about a player who can't stay healthy. Read up on Wallace and see what you think.

Sorry, I don't buy your argument of "championship teams are all about tested vets". Yes, you have to have a few in there to add experience and stability to the team. But I'm just going to toss in a few names of player who were instrumental in helping teams who championships while they were still young to the league (may not be rookies, but second/third years).

    - Tim Duncan
    - Tony Parker
    - Glen Davis
    - Dwayne Wade
    - Manu Ginobili

I know 4 out of the 5 names are considered superstars in the league, but my counter to your point is that time in the league doesn't mean everything. Allen Iverson is a seasoned vet and so is Charles Barkley. They're both very good but haven't won a single trophy in their career.

If you have 2-3 seasoned vets to hold down the team, a bunch of young and athletic guys like Brooks, Hill, and Budinger can do amazing work for the team.

It's all about how the pieces fit and the right coach to utilize their talents when the time comes.

Good points, but our starting backcourt is a defensive sieve already (Brooks and Martin) ... team defense and rotations works only if every player can keep up with their man/switch on screens and picks fast enough.

    Brooks
    Martin
    Ariza
    Bosh
    Yao

definitely does NOT have the defensive capabilities of:

    Rondo
    Allen
    Pierce
    KG
    Perks

Just look at how intense KG CAN be on the defensive end:

    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/OYqCMN8dVAU&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OYqCMN8dVAU&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

That's beautiful man to man defense. Ironically against our man Bosh. If an individual player can't stay with their man, other players have to rotate to him. If multiple players in the lineup each can't stay with their man, then rotations and team defense don't work. Which is already the case with the Houston Rockets. Dont know if Bosh can stabilize our D core like KG can? Yao coming back will definitely help (no more layup drills!).

    Two things:

    1) Someone I assume has already pointed out that this "he hasn't won anything" is a moot point because his teams have been crap. The best player he's played with has been Bargniani most likely. Even Kobe couldn't make it out of the 1st round when he had the supporting cast with guys like Smush Parker and Luke Walton in the starting line-up.

    2) If we assume that you need to fill your team with winning players to be successful... then we're ****ed. Yao Ming has been in the league 7+ years and has done less with more than Bosh. All those 50 win seasons, all those first round exits. And I'm not saying Yao sucks... but I'm proving a point that lack of postseason success doesn't necessarily make you a bad player.

Shane Battier's only won like 10 post season games in his career yet he's considered by many to be the type of player that every contending team would like to have because of his leadership and intangibles.

Kevin Martin... hasn't even made it into the playoffs, and he's supposed to be one of our best players. Aaron Brooks I'll give a pass to because the one time he started at PG he almost eliminated the Lakers in the 2nd round. Ariza too... obviously he has his title even though he came off the bench for the most part IIRC.

And then the three players you mention that we should go after. AI2? Hasn't won a playoff series in his career. Same with Gerald Wallace and Danny Granger. Not that I wouldn't love to have these players on this team myself, but you claim that not playing for a winning team is a bad thing and then choose players on teams that have done worse than the Raptors.

Brooks is on the last year of his rookie contract. If the Rocket are well over LT this season and the next... An $8M to $10M/yr contract for Brooks will cost the Rockets $16M to $20M.

I think he could be traded sometime this season.

IDK why people love bosh on this board but they guy is another tmac basically and is injury proned. Have we not seen this story yet??? we have yao who is gets hurt every year, kmart who gets hurt every year, and now we want bosh who gets hurt every year. and when I mean hurt I mean he misses significant time which could be crucial. would rather have a hard working scola than a losing mentality in bosh.

Buzzkill info right here. This is from the Chad Ford chat from espn

"Do the Rockets' have a chance to get Bosh or any of the other big players?
    Chad Ford
    (1:14 PM)

Yes. They'll make an argument. They have a number of smaller assets that they could offer and a guy like Bosh could decide that he wants to play for a more established, veteran team and coach. However, the word I've gotten out of Bosh's camp is that none of the Texas teams are on his short list at the moment. That could change, but right now Houston, Dallas and San Antonio all look like long shots."
