with a guy like Yao, you cannot have a starting pg who is that bad from 3. Hell Lowry at least shots like 25%. Sessions shoots 17% from 3. No thanks.
Coaches stay true to what they know. Have u ever wondered why jackson has never had a true pg? The one he had, nve, he traded so he could play with shaw, harper and fisher. So now all of a sudden, after a boatload of wins, he is suppose to change his core ideas? It would be different if we were talking about paul or williams, but we're talking about sessions.
Well if its it 2007, nothing. Heck Rox pass him up 2 times as well as portland. http://www.nba.com/draft2007/board.html
I haven't looked at who else is RFA this offseason, but that could be where we pay more money than a club in financial trouble wants to commit to right now. It might not be crazy money like you normally throw at RFA so that the team balks at it. Interesting at least...but it seems to always tie your hands in your offseason goals, committing money and not knowing if all you did was waste your time negotiating for another team.
I hear you and that sucks but let's look forward. A lot of good players slipped in past drafts (Parker, Boozer, Josh Howard, Monta Ellis, etc...). If there is a reasonable way to get Sessions, I would do that before signing Artest. Unfortunately, I have to believe the Bucks will match whatever offer he gets. Assuming they are even willing to do a S&T, how do we know we will be able to give the Bucks what they want? There will surely be other teams interested in Sessions' services.
Bucks basically need to start from scratch with salary dump of jefferson and redd. unfortunately they won't do that, they'll try to add talent. they need a PF next to bogut in the worst way, I think they would trade sessions for scola, but I don't think Morey will. One thing to keep in mind is that bucks had a LOT of injuries this season, therefore sessions had the ball in his hand a lot, his numbers will decline on whatever team he is on next cos he won't have the ball as much.
Pass on Sessions, Lowry is better and Lowry is actually the better shooter despite what the stats say. Pass on Sessions, keep Lowry.
This thread is very refreshing in that most of the posters have a very realistic view of Brooks as a pg. These folks are not all hyped up by the few good games that Brooks played during the season and playoffs. I hope Morey goes all out to get Sessions. The Rockets are almost there and getting Sessions would make next season really interesting.
I'd love Sessions. He's the playmaker that none of our other PGs are. Lowry can make plays, but he's just not starting-caliber. Sessions is.
The Mike James trade, no? Not sure how much resource the Rockets should spend on Sessions. He might be an upgrade over what they have, but is he the best thing to spend their money on when they only have the MLE and have to worry about the luxury tax?
One of the posters already alluded to this,we have to look for our immediate vs long term need. This is not an easy question,Sessions has shown a lot of genuine promise, but he is not an established player. I hope DM will look at him and see whether he can fit in on a long term basis for us or not.
say fella players improve there shooting all the time. Mo Williams came into the league shooting around 20% or so, now look at him. Sessions is only 23 his shot will improve and you will look back on this day and feel like ass. The man can flat out ball and that is what you look for. My question to you is who in our rotation is a spot up shooter? Next question is do you really think Brooks is better BASKETBALL PLAYER? What will end up happening to us again is Luther Head all over, we should have traded away Head when his stock was a little high. He just showed over time that his stock would drop and keep falling. If Yao gets the ball all Sessions has to do is cut off of him, basically keep moving don't stand still. As long as he can score is what you look for, off of cuts on the freethrow line or whatever. Me personally hate for a team to stand around at the 3 point line
Sessions automatically makes this team better. Ive been hoping the Rockets would go after him all season. I would love to have PG on this team who is capable of putting up more than 3 assists.
He is capable of moving off the ball, getting free for shots and making them. He seems like a respectable defender too. I can see Shane and Ron passing out to him for open looks.
Adelman's had some really great guards (some early in their careers), but nobody really dominates the ball in his offense. He's had pretty good shot distribution in his offenses. He's coached Terry Porter in his prime, Tim Hardaway, Rod Strickland, Mike Bibby, Jason Williams, etc., but they all played within the system, so none of them dominated the ball even though they all could. Well, Williams tried to dominate the ball, but... I think the important thing is that whoever they may go after will need to learn to sacrifice some shots and learn to pass if they don't already. I don't see the PG necessarily dominating the ball in the sense of a Chris Paul.
You people obviously hasn't seen sessions Play. While Lowry is good Sessions is just a little bit better. And Sessions is capable of putting up double figure assist games. Something that none of our PG's can do
