Seriously, the Rockets are now better WITHOUT Tmac

We're arguing about different things here. Obviously, if Tmac can come back to his pre-injury self, then the Rockets are FAR better off with him than without. However, that doesn't seem to be the case here. I'm sure every poster in the forum hopes that we can see 2004-2005 Tracy, but with everything that has happened this year, it doesn't seem likely. Neither a weak psyche nor a knee that requires microfracture surgery recovers quickly.

Now, as far as that "MD" quote, I found it especially amusing. Maybe if you came down with an emergent ailment, you'd want your physician to take into account only your past health, but as physicians, our main concern is chief complaint and the present illness.

so are the rockets better without yao? cause how many games did we win without him last year? we got up to 22 wins without him for god's sake! we won like what the first 8 with him?

remember when yao went out 2 years ago (i think, correct me if im wrong). he was gone for about half the season (deke stepped in beautifly) and tmac took charge and our record was pretty damn good WITHOUT yao!

what do you guys think? and dont give me that BS and say we played bad teams during that 22 game streak...cause the two games we won recently were vs NJ and SACRAMENTO (two lottery bound teams!)

just cause your record is better without someone, doesnt necessarily mean your team is better without them. tmac is BY FAR our BEST facilitator! (i know he takes a lot of bad shots too, but he's clearly one of our top 3 players!)

cant wait for the playoffs when tmac fills up the stat sheet and yall all disappear or hop on his wagon again...(if he's not traded that is)

Pre-Islam he was more like early Artest. He had a really quick temper, but he attacked the rim and offensive glass like a beast. (This was pre-Dream shake). I love watch footage of early Dream. Raw power inside.

I had season tickets back in those days. I don't recall any drama with Dream and his teammates at all.

A gimpy TMAC makes others around him WORSE not better.

Artest is a much better player without TMAC on the floor.
Alston plays better without TMAC on the floor.

The Rockets are 8-3 with Yao + Artest, and without TMAC
The Rockets are 2-3 with Yao + TMAC, and without Artest

TMAC isn't an efficient player this year, and he doesn't make his teammates or the overall team better. This won't change until he gets 'right'. (Mentally, Physically, Pyschologically).

I tend to agreed the team operate better without Tmac. But we could use Tmac to get a better PG like Baron Davis. It'll be nice to have a PG that penetrate and makes play for the team.

If he's not really hurt and wants to play, tell him to take a month off and get his head and body straight. He can come back when he wants/is capable to run again.

If he really is hurt than just shut him down.

The Rockets will be fine either way.

Totally agreed and in fact that's everybody's expectation (Rox is a championship contender) at the beginning of this season. Hope TMac can find his magic doctor and have his mental weakness cured.

Just keep him on the DL until playoffs. Maybe the playoffs too.

We are better without an injured McGrady with an injured ego and confidence, no doubt. But we are not better with a reasonably healthy McGrady, as we will we in our upcoming playoff elimination, whether it's in the 1st or 2nd round.
